qb pressures is a laughably terrible made up pff stat. Shea McClellin was great at it, had more then any other Bears defender while he was there...but had next to no actual sacks. Don't be to impressed w/ the "pressure" stat it means next to nothing.
QB sacks #1, qb hits #2, tfl, pd, ff, ints, tackles, solo tackles, % of snaps on the field, penalties received are all more important and indicitive of a player then "qb pressure".
it could be useful if PFF knew what the hell they were talking about. but the fact that they don't take into account scheme makes it useless.
They count a pressue as anytime a qb has to move from where he is in the pocket b/c of pressure. But that means(example NO's OL scheme) if the OL's job is to move the DE/OLB behind the QB and have him step into the pocket, that is a "pressure". It's why they had Jerom Bushrod ranked as a terrible LT and J'Marcus Webb as clearly better(which he wasn't). It's also why Shea Mc for the Bears had so many pressures, but really he was next to worthless as a passrusher.
So ya it could be a useful stat, if PFF used it correctly or actually tried to be good at what they did.
