Corona-related/boredom semantics disagreement? 😀
You can make the argument that, compared to the rest of the league, "purge" might be an exaggeration. I was thinking more along the lines of the norm for this franchise, it's rare that we lose players that are considered an integral part of the team.
With that said, Diggs is probably the only one that could truly be classified as integral. Potentially Alexander as well, depending on how his replacement performs.
You can think w.e you want of Rhodes, Joseph, Griffen, Wayne's, Alexander..... those are 5 staters (potentially Harris as 6th) on defense which have been immersed in our defense and are considered mainstays in our defense.
I don't care how awful Rhodes or Wayne's or whoever was.... it will NOT be easy to replace all that experience ALL in ONE offseason...
You (or levi) can justify it however you want as it relates to other teams around the league, but it simply will not be an easy task.....
Whatever happened to the argument that chemistry is most important on a football team? Seems like it is only applied when convenient for (some, not you) Vikings homers.....
I'll agree with Waynes and Griffen. Both are solid players that dont make a ton of mistakes because they've been on the defense for a while. Whoever replaces them will make mistakes for a while and that has to be expected.
But I have literally zero concern about replacing Rhodes. We already have 3 guys on the roster better than him. And I love Big Goon. He was my favorite Viking. But we just straight up upgraded him.
