Well Combine is next week and I wanted to get this one out before that. Again these are done in fun and I do spend a lot of time on these so don't be a jerk. I understand there are different opinions from different people, but you can share your different views cordially.
As of right now the Vikes are 1.4 under the cap.
Cuts
Rhodes- 8.5 savings
Joseph- 10.5 savings
Elflien 2.1 savings
Puts Vikes at 22.5 under cap
Restructure
Reiff 3yrs @ 36 million w/ 20 guaranteed
10 + 12 + 14
Why he does this: Moves his guaranteed money from 6.6 to 20 million
Why vikings do this: They have bigger holes to fill. Although not elite they get a better than average LT for two years and cut him cheap after 2 years at lower cap
After restructure Vikings have 25.7 in Cap Space
Trade Diggs and 106 to Oakland for picks 19 and 80
Although I don't want Diggs traded, I think he eventually wears the Vikings management out. I believe Brady goes to Oakland and a big part of that is Diggs to go their too.
After trade Vikings have 31.2 in Cap Space
Resign
Bailey 3 @ 8 million w/5 guaranteed
2 x 3 × 3
Not much to be said here. He was good last year and should be easy resign for both parties
Waynes 4 × 36 million w/24 guaranteed
6 × 8.5 × 10.5 x 11
He has been consistently average to above average. He gets resigned because the Vikings need some consistancy from last year and he is the best fit for that. Good tackler and been healthy most all his career
Free Agent Signings
Graham Glasgow 5 @ 42 million with 28 guaranteed
6 x 8 x 9 x 9 x 10
He might go for more than this but gave extra guaranteed money to get him cheaper. Meet your new left guard who didn't give up a sack in 872 snaps last year.
After signings the Vikings have 17.2 million in cap space
So they need to designate 5 million to the draft which leaves 12.2 in cap space before the draft
Draft
19 Henry Ruggs III WR
25 X McKinney S
58 Julian Okwara DE
80 Leki Fotu DT
89 Ashtyn Davis S
4th Comp Michael Ojemudia CB
5-7 depth and punter
I am not going to do depth charts but starting lineups look like the following
Cousins QB
Cook RB
Smith Jr TE
Rudolph TE
Thielen WR1
Ruggs III WR2
O'Neill RT
Kline RG
Bradbury C
Glasgow LG
Reiff LT
Waynes CB1
Hughes CB2
Hill CB3
Smith SS
McKinney FS
Kendricks MLB
Barr OLB
Gedeon OLB
DE Hunter
DT Stephen
DT Johnson/Watts
DE Odenighbo/Okwara
After draft we find a key DL or CB to help in 2020 with our cap space.
