Yes, you are correct. I referenced ESPN's team transactions, and for some bizarre reason, none of these moves are there. I apologize for the misinformation.... but I guess that's what I get for trusting ESPN!

You could say that supplementing the roster via free agency is wise, getting guys like Alexander and Matthieu to help build quality rosters, but relying on FA moves to fix many holes on the roster usually doesn't work.

i think you are correct. If you mix in a top free agent occasionally it can really bolster your team but for every steve Hutchinson there are alot more fred smoots bernard berrians and greg Jennings types. For this offseason the only position id look to spend big money would be at left guard for a guy like thuey. Maybe trade for an extend trent williams but there are very few defensive players id break the bank for and that includes our own guys

Ravens acquired DE Calais Campbell from the Jaguars for a 2020 fifth-round pick.
Campbell is in the final year of his deal and will try to finalize an extension with the Ravens. This comes out of nowhere, but trading Campbell clears $15 million in cap space Jacksonville can use toward signing franchised DE Yannick Ngakoue long term. Campbell's sack totals declined last year, but he still graded out as PFF's No. 3 edge defender among 185 qualifiers. He'll bookend Brandon Williams in Baltimore.

The Ravens add a quality defensive lineman who's been kicking butt for years... and the Jags put themselves in a spot where they could tank for the 1st overall pick. Their defense has been gutted and they have cap room galore.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Titans are on the "verge" of a multi-year deal with impending free agent Ryan Tannehill.

Tennessee will not be going after Tom Brady, and will instead get Tannehill locked up and likely tag Derrick Henry, per sources.

They weren't even a freaking team in 94 and are somehow on top! But they do their thing, and have remained largely competitive for ... well ... most of their existence. Jealous!

It has more to do with the Rams and Jags letting Pro Bowl caliber players go for 5th round picks because they don't want to pay them. The Ravens have the benefit of keeping their cap open (thanks to having a QB on a late 1st round rookie contract!).

With the CBA signed and free agency still planned to start this week (while it probably shouldn't be), the deals are starting to come in:

ESPN's Vaughn McClure reports the Falcons are close to a three-year extension with Tyeler Davison.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports the Texans have signed Bradley Roby to a three-year, $36 million extension.

Patriots re-signed S Devin McCourty to a two-year, $23 million contract.

This could essentially keep McCourty, 32, in New England for the remainder of his career, as he's openly talked about retirement in recent seasons. McCourty intercepted five passes in 2019 and graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 13 safety out of 92 qualifiers. It's clear he still has plenty of game left in the tank. With McCourty locked down, New England moves on to bringing Tom Brady back to New England.

Colts signed LT Anthony Castonzo to a two-year, $33 million contract extension.

The Colts' left tackle since 2011, Castonzo began the offseason considering retirement. 2020 will be his age-32 campaign. Castonzo missed the first five games of 2018 with a hamstring injury but rebounded to start all 16 contests in 2019. Even with Jacoby Brissett often holding onto the ball for too long, Castonzo once again graded out as one of the best tackles in the league by Pro Football Focus. The Colts' next order of business will be deciding whether to upgrade Brissett or add competition.

Falcons released CB Desmond Trufant.

He'll likely be a designated a post-June cut. The move saves the Falcons $10.75 million in cap savings and $4.4 million in dead money. Trufant had a career-high four interceptions before going down in Week 14 last year. The Falcons shopped him this offseason but were forced to cut Trufant after not finding any takers. A seven-year starter, Trufant slots in behind Byron Jones and James Bradberry as one of the top corners available this offseason. He won't struggle for interest on the open market.
