Some notes from today:
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports suspended Seahawks WR Josh Gordon intends to play in 2020.
Per Fowler, "commissioner Roger Goodell will oversee Gordon's reinstatement attempt." Gordon is currently serving his sixth suspension since 2013, this one for violating both the league's substance-abuse and PED policies. The league's new CBA takes a much more lenient approach to substance abuse, with marijuana suspensions no longer a possibility. Gordon turns 29 next month.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, "an unexpected high number of players have reached out to the Buccaneers to let them know they want to join the former Patriots’ QB there."
Schefter added, "This is otherwise known as the NFL version of the LeBron effect." Ring chasing isn't exactly a new concept. The Bucs are obviously loaded with high-end receivers in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, while the likes of O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate also figure to be plenty involved. Theoretically, this is an exciting situation to join ... as long as old-man Brady isn't washed just yet. The offense still has a rather gaping hole at the RB position, as Peyton Barber was brutal in 2019 and Ronald Jones doesn't have a good enough history as a pass blocker to warrant the benefit of the doubt ahead of 2020.

ESPN's John Keim reports there's no chance of the Redskins acquiring Jameis Winston.
The market for Winston has been eerily quiet since the Buccaneers and Tom Brady made their plans official. There was some speculation that Winston could land in Washington as a backup, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The Redskins are expected to move forward with Dwayne Haskins and potentially Alex Smith (pending health) in 2020. The clock is ticking on Winston to find a home where he can be a Week 1 starter for next season.

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio reports, "The Rams are currently in discussions regarding a possible trade of RB Todd Gurley."
It remains to be seen how much, if anything, teams are willing to give up to trade for Gurley. The 25-year-old RB has a troubling history of knee injuries and is signed through 2023. Releasing Gurley would leave behind an absurd $25.6 million in dead money, making a trade the only potential pathway for the Rams to part ways with their long-time RB. While Gurley managed to score 14 touchdowns last season, his average of 4.2 yards per touch was the lowest mark since his infamous 2016 Jeff Fisher-induced campaign. There's plenty of potential for a committee to emerge in 2020 if Gurley is ultimately back with the Rams.

9News Denver's Mike Klis reports Joe Flacco (neck) is expected to be ready for the 2020 season.
Flacco didn't require surgery on the neck injury that ended his 2019. The Broncos waived him with a failed physical, but the expectation is he'll be healthy for the start of next season. SiriusXM's Adam Caplan adds there's "interest from other teams" to sign Flacco as a backup. 35-year-old Flacco should resurface if he gains medical clearance.

The Athletics' Jeff Howe reports the Rams have made WR Brandin Cooks available for a trade.
Reports have indicated Cooks has been in trade talks for most of the offseason. The long-time stud field-stretching WR averaged five-year lows in yards per game (41.6) and yards per target (8.1) in 2019, although Jared Goff's regression and the offensive line's issues in pass protection certainly didn't help matters. Cooks' concussion history could be an issue, but he's managed to play in 88-of-96 regular season games since entering the league in 2014. Every team could use a WR with Cooks' game-changing speed.
