I am sorry but he just doesn't have it. He has zero leadership skills and these players know it. Sure, they say the right things when they have to about Kirk but everyone knows it just isn't true. Take Diggs for example, can anyone in here remember one episode when Case was here? I honestly can't. I think the whole thing bugs these players of Kirk getting a guaranteed contract of that number for being what he is. The team sure seemed more cohesive pre Kirk.

I think Keenum earned his team mates respect with his toughness. It was really evident in that bears game early in the season. Bradford played the first half and looked like a scare crow. When keenum entered the game you could see the oline and the entire team getting fired up.

Cousins to me is a lot like Bradford. Big pay check without ever really earning it.
I think wanting that Guaranteed contract was a big mistake by Cousins. He drew a lot of attention which added more pressure on him to play better. We've all seen how Kirk performs when the lights are brightest. He'd be smart to take a traditional contract if extended.

You're spot on, as usual.....

People don't like to give credence to the leadership aspect of a QB, because it is difficult to quantify. It is a very important aspect of a QB though. A strong leader at QB who inspires their team to play better is incredibly valuable, whether we want to admit it or not. Every great QB has had it and it is the reason a QB can have great passing stats and be .500, while another QB can have those same stats and win SBs.

These were the games that came to mind immediately. Every single one of them was winnable. Kirk just doesn’t deliver like that.

Two of those games the opposition scored 20 points. None of those games had a team score more than 24.

Have our expectations fallen so low that beating a team that scores 20 or more is some great feat by the QB?

It would have helped if the defense didn't give up TDs on the Packers' first 3 drives of the first game. Also, we would have tied them if Cook wasn't called for a BS pass interference call that took a TD away. Kirk helped put up 30 on the road in Seattle; he should have scored 40!!! Lol. Can't defend him in the KC game but the o line didn't play well. The 2nd Packers game was closer than the score indicated but he didn't play well there. So in other words, you could blame Cousins for 2 games (3 if you count the first Bears game.) Honestly, at this point, with the QBs available, who would you have instead?

Yes, ABSOLUTELY sometimes the situation DOES require a top 5 paid QB to put up 40+

Mahomes was down 24-0 in the playoffs and put up 50+ in response. He will be playing in the Super Bowl

2017 Case came off the bench cold for Sam and beat the bears.
2017 against NO in playoffs Case threw a pass to Diggs that Kirk would not have attempted.

O my god. CASE KEENUM SUCKS BALLS. There is a reason he will be on a new team next year. He had a fluke year with us. His days of becoming a long term starter are over.

Yet Trent Dilfer can “win” a Super Bowl with Baltimore but Kirk Cousins could never win one with Minnesota - moronic. It is a team game and fifty percent of the team is defense which the QB has no control over. Granted Dilfer wasn’t paid like Kirk but that has nothing to do with the ability to win statement. Dilfer was so valuable to the team they released him the next year.
