So I love the offseason and pretending I am the GM. So every year put a few of these together. They take a couple days of work so please be kind....

Start around 5.4 above the cap

Cuts:
Joseph saving 10.5 million
Griffen saving 13.1 million
Holmes saving 500k
Gedeon saving 700k

Total savings in cuts is 24.8

New Cap after cuts is 19.4

Restructures/extensions:
Rieff 3yrs @26mil (18 mil guaranteed)
8+9+9
Rhodes 2yrs @18mil (9 mil guaranteed)

Smith 3yr ext @42mil (21 mil guarantee)

I think they should give Barr a chance to be a DE. I think he has elite pass rushing abilities and not so good pass coverage abilities. So I drafted Malik Harrison to take over that OLB spot

Zimmer has shown that he has no interest in using Barr as a DE, so while it makes sense, I can't see it happening with him in charge.

I would have never given Barr an extension in the first place, as I didn't in my offseason article last year. Now they're stuck with his >$12M cap hit this year, which is something I'd rather not have.

I like adding Hargrave to the D-line. He and Stephen would make a good run-stopping duo, but we still wouldn't have anyone to rush the passer from the interior. I do have hopes for Watt, though.

Hargrave had the most QB pressures from a DT last year. I wanted the Vikes to trade for him ladt year and now he is even better

They need to find a way to have Barr make game changing plays or else he is a huge waste of money...glad you agree!!!

I am not a fan of resigning Harris. Safeties are too easy to find.
