In the Seattle game, Green Bays defense never allowed the Seahawks inside the red zone the first half. The Packers were able to build a 21-3 halftime lead. Once again it was the defense that won that game for them. Not Rodgers.

BTW, Cousins numbers from his last 8 regular season game

175	255	68.6%	1891	13	3	7.4

He went 5-3. In the 5 wins the Vikings defense gave up 14.6 ppg. In the 3 losses. 28.7 ppg

One of these day people will learn.

but you are caught up in numbers. I am more and into results. I cannot say this strongly enough, He was in yet another conference championship game. All those numbers for cousins has meant squat.

I guarantee you, if cousins had RODGERS numbers and in 3/4 NEXT conference conference campionship games, Cousins would be a GOD.

But you are caught up in the QB conundrum. It's not just the QB that's winning the games. Only you don't see it. I can't make it any more simple than that post. It shows once again that you don't need a QB to throw for 400 yards and 5 TD's to win games. Everyone thinks Joe Namath was a good QB. Well he wasn't. He sucked. Doesn't even have a winning record. But I guarantee if asked, people on this board would trade him for Cousins in a heartbeat. Why? Perception. In 13 years Namath had 3 winning seasons. 3. But one of those he went to the Super Bowl so people put him on a pedestal. If Rodgers is so damn good tell us, why does he have only 1 Super Bowl ring? All of Rodgers numbers are better than Brady's since Rodgers became a starter. Why does Brady have 5 SB appearances and 3 wins in that time period while Rodgers has 1. Defense. Brady has a defense. It's a team game, and the sooner people recognize that the sooner they can get over the idea that this QB will take us there or this one won't.

If Cousins had Rodgers number we would be in conference championship games. Really? Why haven't he Packer been there lately until this year? Hint, it has to do with defense.

you were the one to point to rodgers numbers to suggest he is average. You need 53. Not one, not 22. Its not numbers, it is not talent, it is the best team. And that consist of 53 players and god knows how many team employees that are not players. A truly great qb compensates for a lot of mistakes, faults, erros, but it cannot win a sb doing it that way. It is much bigger than the qb, its a popcycle headache not funny. GB has less talent overall than we do.

He and Cousins both went 1-1 in the playoffs, and I'd say Cousins' win was more impressive, against a very good Saints team on the road while the Packers faced a banged-up Seattle team at home.

Oh, and let's not forget that Rodgers is getting paid more and using up more of their cap room. Would I still take Rodgers over Cousins? Yes, probably... but the margin is very close, especially with Rodgers getting into his late 30s and likely not improving. He's going to cost them $36.4M in 2021 and $39.9M in 2022, but I don't see people up in arms... yet Cousins is going to have a $31M cap hit in 2020 and it's going to put a nail in our coffin?

I will say this - if the Packers bother to find Rodgers some WRs to complement Adams and find a real TE to replace Graham, I'd expect Rodgers' numbers to increase. But wait, that's the same argument about adding O-line help to make Cousins better... oh no, Rodgers must be so horrible since he can't elevate the players around him enough! What an overpay!
