Good luck.
People only wanna b*tch around here. When I press for discussion about replacement ideas it's always ...
"THAT'S NOT MY JOB!"
I guess it's the firing the keyboard warriors wanna do, not the hiring.
Here's the thing. We're not privy to all the information necessary to make an informed hiring, like an NFL owner would be. They can call or ask around about people, or even setup interviews. What could we possibly find out about some VP of player personnel for the Ravens just by reading his wiki page? Because I'd want to hire a new GM before I hired a HC. I would want to interview these guys to make sure I understand what their plan would be and whether or not it aligns with the direction I personally want the team to go.
In other words, it's almost impossible for us fans to know who to hire for these positions, but it's super easy to notice how the current GM/HC aren't doing a very good job when it comes to filling the trophy case. These 2 decisions are very different.
I would hope the Wilfs are already working on a plan, and looking at, asking around about potential GM candidates should things go tits up next year. And maybe they already have someone in mind. Is that not the job of the owner? To constantly be assessing his team and doing homework? I'm sure Zygi has rubbed shoulders with and talked to many execs around the league and has a ton of info floating around in that little head of his about potential candidates, that we couldn't possibly have. On the other hand I just need to look at the standings to know how good of a job Spielman and Zimmer are doing.
At best we could only make a guess from a very narrow pool of candidates that we've read articles about.
