There are 2 guys who will decide if the Vikings have a chance to win: Kirk Cousins and Xavier Rhodes. If Kirk plays like "primetime Kirk" (aka like vs GB), we don't even get the car started so it doesn't matter how the rest of the team plays, Saints will score and we lose. If Kirk plays like he can, then we have a fair shot UNLESS...
Xavier Rhodes is having his worst season since his younger years in the NFL. some games he can lock it down, others he's playing like total crap. He'll be guarding Michael Thomas. If he's not "on" then Thomas is going to produce like the guy who had 150 catches, and we're going to get chipped and chipped and Saints will score on every drive and the Vikings will lose the shootout.
If these 2 guys are off, we will absolutely lose. They play good versions of themselves we can absolutely beat these turds in New Orleans.
Rhodes sucks this season. That we know.
So in the playoffs, do you put the guy that sucks on their best player on their team (Thomas)?
No, nobody with half a brain would under these circumstances.
So that leadup brings me to my question..... since the obvious call is to NOT put Rhodes on Thomas on Sunday....... isn't Waynes considered our next best CB? A top 11 draft pick of Spielgod.... who has had time to more or less enter his prime years..... so why has NOBODY on this board suggested we have our great #11 pick CB Waynes be on Thomas the whole game?
Just asking the tough question. Hoping for some apolitical and direct answers.
