So about that bug I discovered on kick returns. As you can see in the screenshot, it says Patterson returned it 98 yards in just 7 seconds lol. I remember running free down the left sideline and thinking I want to make sure the clock hits :00 before I score, but that's when I noticed it was frozen at :03 as I ran the final 30 yards. But since I had a big enough cushion on the defense, I didn't cross the goal line right away, I actually ran parallel to the GL the entire way to the right side of the field before scoring hoping the clock would start again, but it didn't. I would say the entire play easily took 20 seconds, but only 7 ticked off the clock. I mean is the clock operator from Minnesota or something? It stopped at some point during the return for some reason.
So still having the saved game at that point before the return, I tried to reproduce the results. I was going to record it, but my screen recording program isn't working atm. And Madden replays don't record the clock. But like I said, the Vikings coverage unit either sucks a$$ or I'm too good at returning kicks because I managed to return about 6-7 more TD's with Patterson in a short period of time trying to figure out what was going on with the clock. Turns out it stops right when you cross the 50. I went back and looked at the 2 return TD's with Dallas and sure enough both of those were returned in about 7 seconds too.
Ahhh but the mystery gets even weirder. I'm so good at returning kicks, I managed to return a kick for 2 TD's on the same return a few times xD (GL to GL and back). Once I got to the GL, instead of scoring I'd turn around and head back the other way. 3 times I made it back to my own GL, and once I almost made it back to the 50 a 2nd time. 240 return yards on one return? Not bad. It's like stealing 1st base after you stole 2nd.
But anyway, when I brought the kick back toward my own goal line, the clock started again when I crossed the 50. So there you have it, on kick returns, the clock only runs when you're on your own side of the field. Stupid bug ruined my walk-off return moment. The Vikings first loss, and in a way only the Vikings could manage.
It'll probably be easier to reproduce this bug in an exhibition game on rookie mode xD.
