That Bradford trade changed the course of this franchise and not for the better.

Yet people still defend it.

Yup.... they will defend him at all costs. There is a reason I call some of those Spielgod worshippers.

Another example is that they will still defend a top 4 pick being wasted on a BUST like Kalil. You can't make it up.

They bought into what Spielgod was selling. Of course, it is his move. So he thinks it's the right move lol.

We weren't a QB away, and Spielgod was wrong.

I liked Teddy as a QB individually, but looking back he was put in a terrible situation which didnt fit him AT ALL. And who's job is it to make the pieces (esp. Your franchise QB ffs) fit? That's right... the general manager.

Also, I hate to say this.... because I like Teddy, and luckily he has bounced back. And hopefully it won't be an issue going forward. But I do recall anonymous NFL front office personnel (before that draft) talking about Teddy's "skinny knees"..... and wouldn't you fkn know it.... the anonymous personnel guy(s) turned out to be proven right with his fear...... Spielgod, however, just like with Kalil took the gamble anyway....and lost the gamble.

What? The Bradford trade set us back multiple years... and then we went 13-3 the next season?! The Eagles took a decent DE in Derek Barnett who's a very average player (12 sacks in 3 years), and from looking at the 2017 draft class, the only other notable players who are studs drafted after that are CBs Marlon Humphrey and Tre'Davious White. I think you're going over the top claiming that not getting one of these guys costed us "a good few years".

Oh, and if you're wondering about the 2018 4th rounder we gave up, the Eagles got DE Josh Sweat with that, owner of 3 career sacks. Other notable picks in that area include HB Chase Edmonds, LB Shaquem Griffin, and DT Bilal Nichols (nobody all that special, at least so far in their careers).

Nobody would have truly believed in giving Shaun Hill 16 starts in 2016... I'm sure Vikings fans would have asked for Spielman's head had we simply given up on the 2016 season like that. Even without the injuries, Bradford never was going to be a savior. Only those blinded by purple goggles believed he would be.

This assumes a few things that are hard to swallow for me, as well as neglects the fact that the Eagles used the cap relief garnered from the trade to sign Alshon Jeffrey, a guy who killed us in the NFCCG and was instrumental to the Eagles even getting that far.

The first assumption: The Vikings would have been drafting in the same spot whether they traded for Bradford or not. While this is entirely possible, it makes the Bradford trade even more damning. If Bradford didn't add anymore to our wins in 2016 over what Hill would have brought, why did we trade for him?

The second assumption: Rick would not have drafted Mahomes or Watson anyway, so at worst we missed out on a decent non-QB pick. Hardly setting us back multiple seasons right? This one is more damning than the first assumption for obvious reasons. If you don't trust your GM to make good decisions at the most important position on the team, why do you still want him around?

So in other words this trade at BEST helped make the Eagles the 2016 SB Champions in a year they beat us to get to the SB, and didn't cost us a franchise QB. Just a first round pick and 11 million in cap. With a GM who is horrible at identifying QB prospects. At worst, if the GM is not horrible at identifying QB prospects, it cost us Pat Mahomes, and made the Eagles SB Champions over us in 2016.

Both of those are pretty bad, imo and the better one is only better because the GM is incompetent.
