I just said care about winning.... because if your goal is winning, I can't see how you hire Spielgod in the first place, and then blindly support him no matter what thereafter..... even when he can't come close to delivering a championship.
Who says Spielman is blindly supported?
Last offseason was a doozy; the pressure was on. It still is. Everyone knows that.
Also, Spielman made a great hire in Zimmer. I assure you, they all care about winning. But maybe the Wilfs consider the whole picture before making emotional decisions to fire a Top 10 GM and a Top 10 HC because ... the fans are getting impatient.
I've said it a dozen times. Zimmer (and, therefore, Spielman) have had historically bad luck at the QB position. Teddy's injury was absolutely brutal. Teams don't easily bounce back from that, but haven't we? And the reason this team even has expectations in the first place? Because of the work Spielman and Zimmer have put in. Anyone remember 2010-2013? Good times, huh? So, while we have not reached the ultimate goal yet, let's not discredit all that these guys have done.
I guess I don't understand how it's so black and white for people. "No Super Bowl, so people need to be fired!" We can't ignore the process and pretend it doesn't matter. It does. We still have a REALLY good football team, and that's because of the Wilfs, Spielman, and Zimmer. It's really that simple. Are any of them perfect? No. But it's important to keep things in perspective and be fair. Accusing ANY of them of not caring about winning is probably the most irrational thing I've ever seen. That's just emotional, bitter nonsense, to be frank.
