You’re using one stat to try suggest all three have done what Cook is doing
if that's not the best stat to compare the 4 of them, then what is??? You tell me.... don't say total yards from scrimmage like you tried haha
As far as McKinnon producing on pace with Cook for 4 games.... well you’ve conveniently chosen McKinnon’s BEST subset of 4 games and compared it to Cook’s ONLY 4 games of that year.
Cook 1st 4 starts in 2017:
365 total yards 2 TDs
McKinnon 1st 4 starts in 2017:
424 total yards 3 TDs
now if you want me to actually cherry pick to include McKinnon's best games that season, we can remove one of those first 4 starts (total of 57 yards in week 7) and replace it with week 14 (total of 138 yards)
So your just going to ignore the fact that neither McKinnon or Murray had as good a YPC that year, even though your whole argument hinges around that. But to answer your question, I don’t think there is any 1 stat that can fairly compare the level of play between players, you have to take multiple stats into account.
I misspoke, I meant a subset of his best 4 consecutive games, which just happened to be the 4 games following Cook’s injury. Also not sure where you’re getting that number for Cook, considering he had 444 total yards from scrimmage. And again, that was Cook’s only 4 games that year, and he’s followed it up now with another full season of similar production while healthy. McKinnon had one impressive set of 4 games from a scrimmage yards perspective, although his rushing totals in that 4 games wasn’t as impressive, and has never been able to keep that production up.
Like you’re taking Cook’s FIRST EVER 4 games and saying that because McKinnon had similar stats in one subset of 4 consecutive games once in his career, it’s proof that Cook isn’t on another level? Cook has consistently produced at this level while healthy, if McKinnon could he’s be a game changer too. Unfortunately for McKinnom he’s not been able to be consistent with that production and has failed to prove he can handle the workload Cook takes on
