You do understand misleading stats are common place here don't you?
I'll give you a few takes Payton Manning 17 years his last was the only season he didn't eclipse that mark because he only played 9 games. Even his bad rookie year he did 16 years in a row he met that goal.
Drew Bress 2004-2019 he has done the same only year 2017 he had 23 TDs so 13 years straight
Brady 2009 to 2020 2019 had 24 TDs all others 10 years straight 2002-2006 missed 1 year by 1 TDs one by 2.
Matt Ryan 2010 to 2020 has done it 8 out of 10 years just missing 25 TDs in two.
Many others just miss it by a TD or two. The difference most if not all the others have won a SB.
Hell even Stafford has almost done it. Most NFL QBs have
So, most guys do it-3000 yards, 25 TDs, six years in a row? So why is Kirk Cousins the only QB to currently have such a streak in the NFL?
Of course other guys have such seasons of 3000 yards and 25 TDs with regularity-it is a solid but unspectacular season.
But then, and you said this and I doubt you thought twice about it, they miss it by a TD or two. Or, they miss a few games and don't get the yards...but Kirk Cousins hasn't. He hasn't missed games, he hasn't missed it by a TD(as Brady did in 2019)or two or three or four (as Russell Wilson did in 2016) the other guy's you mentioned? Brees? Missed yards last year, TDs in 2017. Ryan? Missed TDs multiple times, Stafford? TDs three times, yards once.
So, no, it isn't commonplace at all. The guys you mentioned as accomplishing it? All great QBs...and yes, there are some Super Bowl wins there. But Drew Brees one and only Super Bowl was a decade plus ago. Matt Ryan has blown a bigger lead than anyone in the Super Bowl and not so much as sniffed it since. Stafford? Not so much as a single playoff win to his credit.
Is Kirk Cousins the best QB in the NFL? No. Is he durable and productive? Yes. Is he better than a lot of this board gives him credit for? Yes. And the extent to which you had to go to discredit him while not even actually accomplishing that proves it.
I figured when we signed him he was a safe bet. He didn't get hurt much and he put up, as you said, solid but not spectacular numbers. For us that's greatness in comparison. Having a QB start 3 straight seasons here is an accomplishment in its own right actually. He is what he was and will be. We need a better team around him to reach the big goal however. Most recognize this. He is not going to be a team carrier. I guess the question is can we do it before his health luck runs out?
We could be in alot worse playoff run shape now then having him. Don't get me wrong. I just wish I had a little more faith in him to be good when we need him to be. That he's not sold me on yet.
