where was this performance against seattle and the back up qbs? The offense did ok but it wasnt great. Maddening inconsistency. You have paid players to disappear in big games, but show in 3-9 games? Only undefeated team at home is not really promoting discussion. Nor is insulting other members ( not you but plenty of examples)as a way to participate promoting discussion. You can and should. Be doing better.

Unless you say Dallas I don't see an advantage from GB or Saints. Brees just about beat the 9ers today. His D folded just like ours. Difference he didn't like Kirk did.

kirk was a mistake..he is not that guy. You can win with him...but he is never going to live up to that contract. It is an act of insanity.
Brees skill decline gives opponents a chance even in the dome. And even then you will not get many chances.
No chance AR gives you those chances

Seattle only needs to lose to SF, as long as SF finishes with a better record than them.

Also the article is wrong about the tiebreaker between the packers and Saints. If both teams finish 12-4 and the Saints don’t lose to Carolina, the Saints would hold the tiebreaker based on Strength of Victory. Common games would not factor in because Green Bay does not meet the minimum of 4 common games with New Orleans

ok so it's a given (in order to get a 1st round bye) that we have to win out

so no need to mention that (including GB losing to us)

Packers are a game ahead of us, and my understanding is that even if we win out, as long as GB's only loss is to us... they still have the tiebreaker over us? so if that's true, then we need Chicago to beat GB.

1. we win out
2. Chicago beats GB
3. do Saints have to win 2 out of last 3? Is there no possibility they can lose 1 and we end up tied with them at 12-4 and we win the tiebreaker?

the NFC West, I'm not worried about in the 1st round bye race.... reason being is that I think it's a given one of them will get the 1 or 2 seed (most likely #1). Seattle or SF. So that automatically eliminates the other into the #5 or 6 seed.

So the way I see it is our competition for a 1st round bye are Saints and Packers.....
