Kirk Cousins Against Teams With Winning Records

Mannion is on the team because Cousins gets rattled when he has a competent backup. He was a gunslinger at Oregon State and racked up record yardage with mediocre YPA and TD/Int ratios for a pro prospect. So far in the NFL, Mannion has not showed he can handle even a backup role. That doesn't mean he can't; it just means that he is an open book with mostly empty pages.

Kirk Cousins had decent overall stats last season if one doesn't look at the sack/fumble stats. When he was pressured and rattled, he blew chunks.

Slow reads, slow decisions, and a long windup make getting the ball out a difficulty on too many plays. Cousins needs a little more Kenny Rodgers as he needs Aaron Rodgers, but both would help greatly.

Except for Spielman ofc. But no I was aware of how awful he was, which is why I thought Sloter should have gotten the #2. My argument being, I'd rather take what I don't know about Sloter over what I do know about Mannion lol. However Mannion didn't look half bad in preseason in the Kubiak system, and could have done worse than what Cousins has done so far? Keep in mind we didn't need Cousins at all to beat the Falcons or Raiders. Any of us could have handed the ball to Cook, and no matter how bad Mannion played against the Packers and Bears we wouldn't be worse than 2-2 lol.

Mannion doesn't strike me as the head case kinda guy, but I guess we'll never find out until it's too late because the Vikings are never smart enough to put the backup in to see what he can do in these blowouts. Probably more worried about starting a QB controversy with their $28m Ponder than finding out what Mannion can do.

I mean think about it, if they find out he's not very good, and Cousins goes down with a long term injury. They would then know immediately what they had to do. Try to make a trade maybe, depending on how our playoff chances were looking. But if they don't find out if Mannion is any good until he starts a couple of games, then we're 2 games behind where we could have been. This team isn't very proactive, as evident by how we always wait to draft a QB until we need one instead of drafting one ahead of time and preparing for the future. Ofc we had that going with Sloter until we kicked him to the curb lol.

Browning might be ready in 2 years, but new management/coaching might want their own guy for their own system.

Cousins doesn't play a winning team next week, but I still have bad news. He's been awful against the Giants lol. His last game against the Giants in New York in 2017, he threw 3 INT's. He went 20/37 158 yards, 0 TD, 3 INT and lost 18-10.

In his career against the Giants in New York he's 1-3, completed 53% of his passes for 5.5 yards per attempt, 3 TD and 7 INT for a 59.9 rating.

That was always a bunch of phony baloney and fake-because. I can't put my tinfoil hat on because I never take it off, but Minniman is right. The reality is Sloter is good enough to genuinely challenge a struggling fumble-a-game QB, at least to see what he has as a prospect. But that would have caused more than a QB controversy, but a GM and Head Coach controversy, too. Imagine a nightmare scenario where the Giants handily beat the Vikings ala the Buffalo Bills last year and after that, Kirk Cousins plays his worst game of the season with tipped balls, interceptions and fumbles and all that in a followup loss to the Eagles? Fans would be screaming bloody murder that they got sold a bill of goods. People are already saying this has potential to be an all-time bad franchise decision rivalling Herschel Walker when we're 2-2. Imagine being 2-4 while other teams in the division keep racking up wins? We're 2-4, well out of NFC contention in 4th place, looking like there's no chance of wild card...at least not with Cousins. 

Cutting Sloter was as much if not more about Spielman and/or Zimmer protecting their butts as it was about protecting Cousins. Because you can't have a QB controversy with Mannion, but with Sloter....

Sloter should have never been cut. Zimmer seen something in him he didn't like. That something was the same thing many of us liked about Case. Sloter was more a Case clone. That's not an insult.
Mannion is absolutely a Cousins clone. Zimmer wanted safe. Well Kirk is anything but that. No pocket awareness and too many fumbles. If Kirk can't turn this around Mike will have no choice but to send in the clones and he only kept the one. That's no laughing matter.
