A QB giving up 5 TDs usually results in a .500 or worse team. Having a defense give up the 4th fewest points per game (19.1 would make them 4th) certainly doesn't.
Your last sentence is absurd, btw. Cousins has done nothing to earn your excuses and everything to earn all of the criticisms. That is why he gets ripped. If he wins it all that all stops, guaranteed.
The 2002 Rams (5 INT 4 FUM) and 2004 Dolphins (8 INT 1 FUM) gave up a whopping 9 defensive scores each. Yowzers, 8 pick-6's? That's the most since at least 1960. I only went back to 1960. 9 defensive scores allowed is also the most allowed since 1960. I would have guessed there would have been a lot more back then since turnovers were a lot more common back then. A.J. Feely threw 5 of those pick-6's (and had the FUM TD), Jay Fiedler 2, and Sage Rosenfels 1. The Dolphins went 4-12.
1. 09-11 TEN Feely 37 yard INT
2. 09-19 CIN Feely 63 yard INT
4. 10-03 NYJ Fiedler 66 yard INT
6. 10-17 BUF Fiedler 11 yard INT
9. 11-07 ARZ Feely 41 yard INT
10. bye
11. 11-21 SEA Feely 63 yard INT
12. 11-28 SAF Feely 46 yard FUM
13. 12-05 BUF Feely 20 yard INT
17. 01-02 BAL Rosenfels 41 yard INT
The Vikings last gave up 5+ defensive scores in 2010, 3 INT and 2 FUM. They gave up 6 in 2006 (4 INT 2 FUM), and 6 in 1999 (3 INT 3 FUM).
