Above you said people get flagged for getting blocked into Rodgers. Barr purposefully laid a solid hit on him long after the ball was thrown, and clearly made the hit more than he needed to in order to tackle him. That's a lot more than being blocked into him accidentally. I find this a bit contradictory, so maybe those other calls were honest mistakes or were not quite as you described them? I don't think anyone would say it was "dirty", if you consider dirty (as I do) to mean done with extreme recklessness likely to cause injury, or intent to injure. I'm sure some GB fans said that it was dirty in the heat of the moment. I don't see it as dirty, I see it as a slightly over the borderline play that biased refs would have called.

I admit - I engaged in hyperbole. Sorry. It isn't every time or every game. I should have used a sarcasm note. I did not, however, say that the fix is in against the Vikings when they play the Pack. I said that Rodgers gets the benefits of calls (in my opinion).

So I will clarify the point - the Barr hit was not illegal. Period. Sick of Packers' fans complaining about this two years after. It is illegal now, it wasn't then. A person's opinion of a hit (yours, mine or anyone else's) is NOT what makes a hit illegal. The NFL rules are. Thus, if the hit really had been illegal, he would have been fined. And if it happens to Cousins and isn't flagged or fined, it's not illegal. (That's for the person who's hoping that Cousins gets hurt this week...)

The only "people" I wish harm to are:

Child/women abusers

As for Barr not getting fined...it's awfully telling that the league took it upon themselves to remove that kind of play from the game whether he was fined or not. If they thought it was ok it would still be allowed. And for the "GB gets away with no calls" crowd...didn't that particular no call occur IN Minn? Hmmmmm....

Man, Packer fans sure like to whinge over this play. Barr could have done any of those things, you’re absolutely right. But he also could do exactly what he did, because what he did was within the rules of the game at the time. Barr is not a time traveler, he can not see into the future to know this rule would be changed a year later (not that it would matter anyways). Barr’s hit was clean, it was what ever good defensive player was being taught to do, finish the play, hit the QB as much as possible. You can cry about it until your blue in the face, but that will never change the fact that the hit was clean. It’s been 2 years.... GET OVER IT

The rule change was NOT to protect a defenseless player from being hit and had nothing to do with when Barr hit Rodgers, so right there your argument goes out the window. As a result of that play, the NFL made a stupid rule they stopped enforcing when it screwed the Packers out of a win. A rule that made hitting the QB at all incredibly difficult and forced defensive players to contort their bodies, risking injuries to themselves, in an effort to avoid putting their weight on the guy they were tackling.

When you were playing in the IFL, did your coaches ever tell you to contort your body to avoid hurting the guy you are tackling?

You literally contradict yourself in the 1st 2 sentences. They stopped enforcing it so hard when Haynesworth (I think it was him) tore an ACL trying to avoid landing on a QB. You then ask a question that was already answered in the quote you replied to.

There is no contradiction there, just supporting evidence. You say a made up injury to some player you aren't sure about is the reason for them stopping the enforcement, I say it is the Packers tying a game because of it. It honestly is probably a little of both. Either way, it was a stupid rule that should have never been in the rule book in the first place...that had nothing to do with WHEN Barr hit Rodgers.

I was aware of the cheater technique, but not that they were finally cracking down. I guess that would explain why the Packers got called for offensive holding 4 times vs the Bears. 3 times in the 3rd quarter. I remember the Bears/Packers game last year where Mack and company were destroying Rodgers in the first half and led 20-0, but then suddenly in the 2nd half with Rodgers hobbling on 1 leg, the Bears couldn't even sniff him.
