Sloter To Move On To ... ???

As I noted I am not high on Mannion either. Sloter is still playing football now, if he was as good as you say someone should eventually notice that right? The NFL eventually gave those guys chances so if you are right he should be getting his chance soon. Tom Brady never was known to have a lot of the questions that Sloter did either in terms of preparation etc. which is often important for a QB. Sloter could have done a lot more himself if he really wanted to be in a position to eventually prove his worth in a real game and didn't do it. 

I don't get why the eye test or 32 teams not wanting him wouldn't be as important as basic stats in the preseason against mostly 3rd stringers lol. If you care about those basic stats/metrics then I think you should reevaluate Cousins and your takes on him (who does it against starters). I didn't see anything that special about him when I watched him play despite those stats and at times felt he was lucky to be playing against 3rd stringers or the throws he was making likely wouldn't work. I just don't view preseason stats as nearly as important as you seem to (I don't even think basic regular season stats always tell the whole story let alone against 3rd stringers).

Again if you want to say we should have kept him over Mannion, that's fine. I would have probably done that as well if given the choice. That doesn't make him good though, he just clears a low bar. 

And what does it say about these talent evaluating savants and their ball throwing PhD's, who had Sloter in their own building for 3 years, but then needed to see how plays in an inferior league before giving him the shot he deserved? Over some yutz on a message board who has been saying it for 3 years based on nothing but his own 2 eyes and how well he did against 3rd stringers in preseason?

Kyle piling up another meaningless accolade today against inferior competition, by throwing for a USFL record 273 passing yards. Which they said during the broadcast, I see him with only 266 yards however. He wasn't perfect by any stretch and had a couple cringe worthy throws, but it didn't deter him. He looked in control, kept attacking the defense, passes were on target. He wasn't rattled, he wasn't hearing foot steps. The "it" factor stuff that I keep talking about. Eye test stuff. Stuff you can't teach because it's in your DNA. You either have "it", or you don't. Cousins doesn't, Kyle does. The only question about Kyle is, does he have the tools to do it at the next level? It's one thing to test the processor, next you have to find out how fast he can process, and that's what the next level is about.

A level nobody bothered to test him at, except that one windy day in Buffalo for a half in 2019, where he threw his only preseason pick. An ugly pass for sure, but bad enough to ignore everything else, and not think he didn't learn from it? He came out throwing again on the next series and got us a FG before half. He didn't curl up into a ball and turn into a checkdown machine, which is one of the reasons Zimmer cut him. He was too aggressive. Keenum was "too aggressive" too as he led Zimmer to 13-3, so let that sink in the next time you want to put any value on what these 32 play it safe, talent evaluating savants think about QB's, as the more aggressive QB's/teams fill their trophy cases. You don't need to be paid by the NFL to figure out or understand what does/doesn't work at this level, you just need basic pattern recognition ability.

Ain't nobody going by his stats alone brah lol. Am I speaking english when I say "with my own 2 eyes"? I watched every single snap he took and came to my own conclusion, because I'm kinda weird like that, thinking for myself and whatnot. Momma always said I was special. Some people follow, I get it, there's a certain comfort in herd mentality. Meanwhile some of us are about that Championship Mindset.

But yeah ok, you guys go with what the empty trophy case brigade thinks. It's worked out great for them so far hasn't it?

If Mannion were in the USFL he would the top QB in that league. Darnold would be league MVP.

Kyle Sloter meanwhile can't even keep up with something called Bryan Scott.

I'm not convinced of that, Mannion has never looked very good in the preseason even when playing the "horrible scrubs" that Sloter has gotten to play. Sure, it's usually 2nd stringers instead of 3rd stringers, but I can still remember a Vikings vs Rams preseason game where Mannion started and looked atrocious. He's clearly a smart guy and a future coach, but that hasn't translated to success in the preseason or regular season in the NFL, and I have my doubts his inaccuracy and immobility would function well in the USFL.

If Mannion ever has to start more than one game for, we are screwed.
