So, you can see, at least why people have some devotion to Keenum-seeing as how he has actually accomplished something in his career.
Is Kyle Sloter getting the short end of the stick because nobody saw what he did in preseason? No, everyone saw it, scouts from every team were at AT LEAST one Vikings preseason game, Sloter got playing time in all of them. Coaches probably watched All 22 film of AT LEAST one Vikings preseason game. The Vikings saw him in practice, did you know scouts from other teams will attend practices during Training Camp? The Broncos saw him in practice in 2017. The Lions saw him in practice for the however many weeks he was on their roster. All of them found him lacking. Denver would rather have Brock Osweiler than Kyle Sloter, the Vikings would rather Trevor Siemian be #2 on the roster over Kyle Sloter, and then would just rather have Sean Mannion than Sloter outright, and now Detroit would rather have Chase Daniel than Kyle Sloter...and no team as jumped at the chance to sign him since.
Yet, it's everyone else who is wrong about Kyle Sloter. People whose job it is to actually know something about football. Are they right, 100% of the time? No. But, when taken over the long course of history-who is the great QB who has been undiscovered? Tom Brady lasted until the 199th overall pick, but he was picked and then New England kept 4 QBs rather than let him go. Tony Romo languished on the Cowboys practice squad, but he got his chance. Steve McNair lit up football fields at ALCORN STATE, and the people who scout football found him. Jimmy Garoppolo went to a directional school in Illinois-and then to the NFL because people who cout football found him. Kurt Warner kept plugging at it after Green Bay let him go and was found in the Arena League, IN IOWA (Funkytown can tell you how hard it is to find anything in Iowa), by people who scout football. If you can play, they find you. If they think you can play, they'll find you and you may get your shot. Obviously, a few organizations have found Kyle Sloter and thought he might be able to play. But, everyone of those organizations has decided that either he can't, or just not well enough to keep around over someone better.
But, it's you, Reignman , who knows the truth, and only you?
