I don't care how he played at college, high school or where ever, all I know is he excelled better than anyone at the only level he's ever been asked to compete at, and then wasn't given an opportunity to show what he could do at the next level. That's it! That's my entire argument.

Like it or not, 3rd string preseason football is in fact a higher competition level than any level of college. As fans we dismiss it because the games don't count, but you sure as sh*t can bet it counts to the 22 players on the field who are fighting for a roster spot.

But somehow they've come to the conclusion Sloter isn't good enough despite being by far the top dog against 3rd string preseason talent. Then explain how all the scrubs who faced the same 3rd string talent, not only did far worse, but did eventually get a shot by these same QB whisperers?

Yes I do, and your point is? Your argument would make sense if these scouting savants weren't missing all the time, not only at the QB position, but every other position.

What alternate reality am I in where everyone is ok with watching someone succeed at the highest level he's been asked to compete at, and then isn't given the opportunity to compete at the next level? It's their job to know football, but then why do they still get it wrong so often? Do we need to go over the list again of how many good QB's were missed, and how many busts were drafted high? It happens all the time and yet people still want to value their opinion. In no other industry can you be as wrong as these guys and still get paid as much as they do.

Not when it matters. Nobody has seen him take a meaningful snap, so nobody knows how good/bad he might be. And unlike so many others, he actually succeeded at the last level he was asked to compete at, so it makes no sense for him not to get a shot when so many of those other failures did in fact get a shot. Errbody out here acting like Sloter is the only guy ever to compete against 3rd string preseason talent. If it's so freaking easy, why aren't all these other scrubs putting up the same numbers and looking like they have that "it" factor?

BossStrawman is back! I don't know how many times I can keep repeating the same thing, but here it goes again. I've never made a claim about Sloter one way or another, all I've ever said was he deserved a shot at the next level, and that I would like to see him get a shot. That's it. Something all of you happen to have agreed with at one point or another before you started arguing against yourselves. Sometimes in the very next sentence lol.

Warner was not signed out of desperation. He was the Rams backup the year before Trent Green got hurt. 4-11, 39 yards in one game played.

Why is it you keep harping on preseason? Yes, EVERYONE saw it. Maybe they were evaluating more than just his stats and the results against rag-tag competition. Was he throwing dimes into tight windows or throwing to wide open receivers? Wide open receivers more often than not. Was he making the correct checks and managing the huddle well? I don't know, I don't get paid to know, people who do say it was an issue. Everybody saw the preseason and have, time and time and time and time yet again have let this guy go.

They are not, "by definition" wrong about Sloter until he gets a shot. You aren't just entitled to a chance if, in the opportunities presented to you...and Kyle Sloter has had many-12 preseason games and god knows how many practices...you haven't been able to prove to you deserve it. People whose livelihoods are on the line are watching him, evaluating him and just deciding he isn't worthy of it.

And, they decide to go with sh*t. They decide to go with Brock Osweiler, and Trevor Siemian, Sean Mannion and Chase Daniel...again, everywhere he goes this happens. Because people can't recognize his talent or because in comparison to the aforementioned sh*t-he doesn't have any? There's a philosophical question for you.

Scouts are "wrong" so often because there are hundreds and hundreds of guys who join the NFL every year are out of thousands who possibly could. Mistakes are made. But, this isn't a guy who just sits around and gets his shot every July and August. He shows people enough to make them think he is worthwhile...until someone BETTER comes along. You just can't seem to get that through your head. Why did Detroit cut Kyle Sloter after signing Chase Daniel? I mean, Sloter us younger, cheaper, faster, has a stronger arm. NFL franchises are not renowned for their tendency to find get rid of the young and CHEAP, if it is possibly better than the old and expensive. But Detroit invested heavily in Daniel and retained Blough and showed Sloter the door. Because Daniel, in their evaluation, is better. Blough, in their evaluation, us better.

And, again and again, this happens everywhere he goes. Arizona could have elevated him to their active roster at any point. If he truly showed any evidence he was better than Brett Hundley-why didn't they? Because he didn't. Siemian, Mannion, Blough, everyone if those guys deemed better options than Kyle Sloter. And scouts coaches and executives are doing this to be safe? Yeah, I am sure the next guy to sign Sean Mannion is doing it to ensure his job security.

But, you are never going to change. You are just going to continue to insists he's performed perfectly at the highest level he's every been asked to and nobody saw that, or if they did just ignore it for...reasons. Hundreds of scouts and coaches and executives see him over and over and over again...but don't see what you have seen? What I have seen? What comet52 , Danchat , Funkytown have seen? No. They see it. They see it with a different eye than you or I. They see it, and-I really CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH-over and over and over again find someone better.

Case Keenum is joining the sixth franchise of his going on eight year career. He keeps proving worthy of some type of job. Kyle Sloter is, maybe, moving on to his fourth organization in what is technically a four year career...but keeps getting a pink slip before getting his shot. Because he doesn't prove enough to earn his shot. And not you, or his dad or even Kyle himself with all the unmerited confidence in him that you can muster-are going to change that.
