Based on the NFL's track record of drafting a ton of busts high, and letting gems slip through the cracks, how can anyone think any coach or NFL exec knows what the hell they're doing at the QB position lol? Why shouldn't I feel smarter? My track record is better and I don't even follow college football or scout anyone.
A year by year record of who you wanted at QB in the draft versus who you thought was a bust would be appreciated. I will need links to the evidence of your great QB mind as well. Not "I don't want Ponder anywhere near this team", but "I don't want Ponder, but this Andy Dalton guy might be serviceable for a while." It is easy to go through drafts and pick the crappy QBs, it takes a little talent to find the good ones.
The number of QBs who have been in multiple team's preseason camps and not been able to stick on a roster 4 years into their careers and gone on to be successful QBs is what in the past 20 years?
NFL teams will bend over backwards to give talented QBs a chance to succeed in the NFL. While good NFL QBs can fall in the draft or even go undrafted, but once they get to the NFL, they shine in camp and quickly become backups or even starters. Dak, Wilson, and Brady impressed from day one. Sloter fails to impress ANY NFL GM 4 years in.
You keep hanging onto those 4th quarter comebacks against guys no longer in the NFL though. That means a lot to fans, pretty much nothing to anyone who matters.
