Zimmer was shocked and emotional over it. But we're expected to believe he was on the verge of firing him? Again, it doesn't add up.

Also, Zimmer wasn't wrong for wanting better for his QB and offense. He was absolutely right. That should be obvious. So I don't understand how this is viewed as a negative, but it is, because of this "Zimmer ruins his OCs narrative."

Look, there are legitimate reasons to be concerned with Zimmer. I'll admit to that. But the parroting of the ridiculous and illogical narratives is what gets me. If y'all don't like him, then just say that. No need to repeat emotional nonsense over and over and over as fact.

It's not ridiculous. It's just unproven. No more proof of this narrative then the Zimmer was emotionally broken up by it. Unless you have some secret key to his heart. Now who's pushing a narrative? He was broken up by it because he says so. Norv made several cryptic statements after that point me towards being forced out. One thing he made clear. Norv said he wasn't burned out and was going to coach again...and did.
You just choose to believe Zimmer's side here and Norv has never told his side.

Actually, Turner has told his side. I've quoted parts of it.

Also, I don't need a secret key to Zimmer's heart. lol.

A source involved with the situation was adamant that Turner was not forced out by the team. Turner's decision caught Zimmer by surprise, and Zimmer got emotional at the news conference discussing the departure.

Um, I wasn't the one making emotion assertions about Zimmer, was I? The burden of proof doesn't lie with me. That's why I've been asking for reliable sources to help validate those assertions. I've shared plenty of quotes and facts to the contrary, though. And, then, what I got in return was more emotional responses and deflections. Cry all you want, but I've brought plenty to this debate.

And, yes, I'm still waiting for more info about Zimmer throwing all of his OCs under the bus/ruining them ... and that he hates Case Keenum. Again, those are just emotional talking points that people use around here because they sound good. That's what I take issue with. But maybe I'm wrong. Maybe all of that is true. So, show me.

My take has not changed. They deserve to come back on the basis of making the playoffs. I do not like the idea of firing coaches after a playoff year.
Even if they had lost to the Saints they deserved another year. Not making it next year would be a justified firing.
We will see what next year brings. I don't have a great feeling but will stay open to the possibility that these guys work some magic with their limited funds.

Instead of being negative with it, can you tell me what other teams have made it to the playoffs with three different QBs and OCs in the last six years? How about the last 60 years? The "playoffs every other year" isn't that black and white, so I wish people would stop making it seem like it is. If you want the playoffs year in and year out, continuity with quarterback and coaching matters. A lot.

Funky you are asking people for things that aren't going to be published or spoken in public. Others don't ask you for proof they know you can't provide. If a HC wants to keep a player or coach you know it by public comments made by others outside of the team. Sometimes by the team GM or HC sometimes it's just a general answer.

Just for reference I can find Zimmer wanting to keep Barr at all costs. The Vikings aka Spielman put the best offer to keep Barr and it was not the best offer on the table but he chose the Vikings because of many factors. In saying that I can find nothing on Case and Zimmer trying to keep him
at all costs ever. Sometimes you just have to read between the lines and also filter out coach talk.

Very few statements do I believe that come out from a HC and or GMs mouth. It's not their job to be honest only to give the answers people want. When a coach or player is let go you will hear the text book answers to paint a good picture. You will never get the truth especially from the top in command.

That isn't an automatic for me. Especially with the pattern we have seen already. To me next year would have been the same as 2018 maybe better.

It's bad either way now because of what will be left. There will be no evaluation of current players but it will be an easier reboot other than 22 more new faces that will be on short term deals. The bad is we know what we will get because the growth at the top is known.

The bad to me is new system and more players that probably won't be here long from the 2020 draft or FA period. Most teams have a very high turnover rate and I see no reason for 1 more year of turnover.

Just because things are a known doesn't make it better than the unknown. In this case we have plenty to view for proof of this. I'm not going to blame 1 vs another. I have seen everything I need to to make a level headed evaluation of all.

You know what I said at the start of 2019 and I pretty much nailed it. Nit hard of you look objectively and rationally.

We still have the same issues we had. The record may change a bit but the same issues are still there from top to bottom. You can turn back the clock and issue 3 or 4 years ago are still present. Same excuses and reasons for failure still present.

So we know we need areas of importance like QB OL DB DL but what I don't like is the fact the guy that has failed for 13 years is going to be buying for a guy that doesn't like to shop the same way. So does the new staff get handcuffed by the old regime and how long do they get? 6 to 8 years? We are in the same spot as when this all started. Some older core players with little future other than a few sprinkles.

The one more year thought is just a real hard sell at this point.
