How did I become a Vikings fan

I liked football and watch for a few
years but didn't want to be ban wagon
fan so Niners were out ..Hated the raiders.
Cowboys were too arrogant for me.

I started watching Vikings especially John Randle chase down Steve Young, Bret Farve etc etc..let's Just say Randle is my kinda guy ...sold put hard worker on every play ...So Vikings it became ..


Favorite memory ...my fist Vikings game was the 296 in 2007 ...but to be honest it was my first game ever and I was emotionally overwhelmed...

In 2009 I got an email from someone and heard Brett was signing with the Vikings
I bought ten cheap tickets for the Monday Night game against Green Bay. I sold them all at a profit and bought a VIP ticket.

I sat with 15 feet of Syd Davey . It was a great trip everything went perfect. I was wearing my Jarad Allen jersey and he came and stretched in the end zone just feet from me ..I yelled out and he looked up and smiled right at me and gave me a thumbs up... I did yellow and purple jello shots before the game which gave me a nice buzz most of the game ....the whole trip was just perfect..

When/why did you become a Vikings Fan? Parents were Vikings fans. Grew up cheering for them.

What is your favorite Vikings Memory? We are allowed to have favorite memories? Seems to me most of them are painful. So... gotta be the Minneapolis Miracle.

When/why did you become a Vikings Fan? I stuttered in grade school. One Monday after the Packers had lost to the Vikings I found an edge in fighting back. Besides, I liked the purple and the idea of "Vikings" just appealed to me. Now, one has to remember, I lived 29 miles from Lambeau field in the heart of Packer country. 85% of all my relatives are Packer fans. I have never backed down since that day.

Who was/is your favorite player(s)? Paul Krause and Alan Page.

What is your favorite Vikings Memory? Hasn't happened yet. Next favorite.........anytime they beat the Packers.

What is the airspeed of an unladen swallow? (haha) European or African?

What other sports/teams do you enjoy? I slightly follow the Bucks, Brewers, and Badgers. I am from Wisconsin.

What are your hobbies? I love to fly. Being at the controls of a plane is just relaxing to me.

What do you do for a living? Business owner. Currently working as a painting contractor.

What is/are your favorite movie(s) and/or TV shows? Top Gun, Star Wars. NCIS and Bull, Criminal Minds. I like cop shows in general but those with twists are the best.

Any other information you'd like to tell us about yourself? I'm very forgiving. Until you screw me over for no reason. If that happens, I can be very vindictive. And I know how to make a body disappear.

Random story: I spend my birthday weekend in Galena, Illinois. I've done that for the past few years. Anyway, I had my Hooked On A Thielen shirt on yesterday, and I was attacked TWICE by random groups of women excited to take a pic of me. I guess it was some sort of scavenger hunt competition. But all of the sudden, a woman came flying out of a bar all excited to see me. I was like, WTF? But she explained that they were from Minnesota and they needed someone with a Minnesota shirt on, and obviously the pic couldn't be of them. So I held this little thing and she snapped the pic. She thanked me and offered to buy me a beer. I don't drink, but I wasn't thinking. It was my birthday, I should've said, "How about a piece of pie or a dessert instead?" lol Anyway, then I walked about two more blocks ... and another group of women had the same ridiculous reaction when they saw me. lol. I'm used to getting love in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois with my Vikings gear on, but this was on another level.

Pretty sure he was known as the guy who always stood up for me/had a crush on me. That's probably how you'd remember him. Oh, and super optimistic! He also asked me to attend his first game with him, which I did ... against Chicago ... in the Dome. Man, back in the DAY!

I'm a long, long time fan. As old as the team and both still waiting.

Just like the other Florida David aka...raptorman. I'm on the west side though. Been down here over 30 years. Came down here a young man and going out an old. One way or another.

How I became a Viking fan?
I grew up in a north metro county outside St Paul. I grew watching the Vikings with my dad and brothers so there really was no choice involved.

My favorite player is a very tough question. Moss was the most exciting player this team ever had. That's not enough to make him my favorite. My favorite will always be John Randle. What an amazing story. Poor kid from Texas walk on in the NFL to the Hall of Fame. Other favorite because of his loyalty to the team is Scott Studwell. Very underrated in his own right as a player. Also the honorable judge Page.

My favorite memory is the 1987 playoff run. Two amazing back to back huge road underdog victories. Sad part is you realize that is the last time we won two playoff games in the same season. You can't get to big show if you don't win at least two guys.
My favorite experience was meeting and talking with Jerry Burns back when he was head coach. Met him twice actually. Second a just after he retired. He was really cool. When I 1st met him I was younger (mid 20s) he much older. He was kinda fatherly actually. Oddly enough him and my dad were born the same year.

Air speed of a unladen swallow? Can I use my call a friend? I'll guess it's faster unladen then if it got laid 1st...oops sorry my dirty old mannerism is showing.

Other teams I follow. None as closely as the Vikings. I do still cheer on the Gophers and Twins. I'm an adopted Gator fan. I say adopted because the 1st girl I met in Florida came from a small town close to Gainesville. She had a big family and was very southern for Florida. They treated a yankee as one of their own. They got me hooked on Gator football. Me and the girl didn't work out long term but I met my Georgia peach shortly after and been with her ever since. Thang for southern girls.

My hobbies are a topic all their own. Definitely get to it sometime.

Weight...I'll say better then 4 years ago but will never reach those freaking "experts" stupid ideal weight. I mean seriously I'm supposed to weight what I did went I was a kid.

Favorite shows and movies are...anything Sci-fi or historical period dramas.
Lately I've watched Red Queen/White Princess. The Last Kingdom, Knightfall and the final season of GoT. Anybody watch the Deadwood movie a couple months back. If you were a fan it's must see. Of course always looking for suggestions.
