Who is QB2?

Sloter was a lot more conservative last year compared to his first, so perhaps that's just the Vikings way with young QB's lol. Still he was a lot more aggressive than Siemian who might have been the most chicken squat QB I've ever seen. Sloter has also been a lot more aggressive than Mannion. So he's more aggressive, more efficient, and more productive. That almost defies logic.

If Sloter can't beat him for the #2 then there's either something seriously wrong with our teams ability to recognize QB talent, which is more likely given their track record, or Sloter needs to be sent packing. Or possibility #3, Mannion plays lights out for the first time in his life. But wow, he only had a depth of target of 6.26 last year, 80.4% of his passes were less than 10 yards downfield, and he still only completed 52.2% of his passes. That is beyond awful.

Mannion only had one good year at Oregon St. His junior year in 2013 when he completed 66.3% of his passes for 4663 yards, 37 TD's, and 15 INT's in 13 games. The Beavers got off to a great start at 6-1 before losing 5 straight. Reminds me of Bradford for some reason . Mannion fell off a cliff his senior year however, 62.3% 3164 yards, 15 TD, 8 INT in 12 games.

We're in deep doo doo if Cousins gets injured. Maybe we should see if the Saints are interested in a trade for Special Ted?

Both Mannion and Sloter looked okay tonight. Mannion looked a little slow with his reads, but made some pretty good throws, especially to Smith. His TD pass was only like his fourth or fifth best throw.
Sloter was really impressive on his first throw, hitting Conklin in stride, but Blasingame was wide open on both his catches, and the TD throw was way behind him. Then, the third down throw on the next drive was low and brought the receiver fown before he could move up field.
Overall, I think Sloter moves much better, and if, IF, moving the pocket and getting the QB on the run is as a big factor as it has been made out to be? The Kyle Sloter we saw tonight is probably better suited to the offense than Sean Mannion. But preseason Week 1 is too early to make that call.

So  I went back and watched the two of them again. And what I think I saw was that Mannion several times forced the ball to his number 1 read. But it's hard to tell. Sloter looked better on his feet. His feet kept moving when in the pocket. Someone who was ready to go if he needed too.  We shall see the next few games, Sloter's passes also looked "crisper" to me. But, I could be wrong.
