The answer is obvious and I know you'll looove it: Joe Webb. Joe Webb has been decent enough to still be a quarterback in the NFL long after anyone thought he would. And he does other stuff too. He's been a very good gunner. He can return kicks. He can catch better than Treadwell. He can probably play other positions. I wonder if he is brilliant and athletic enough to hold a ball for a kicker? He probably would be an asset for our non-existent fake field goal play. And Zimmer let him go.
Come on. I know your love for Joe Webb is as well-known as my disdain for Kyle Sloter fans...but at least I have a leg to stand on.
He's not better than Laquon Treadwell, one guy has caught 56 passes and a td Joe Webb has caught 4...4 since he left here, and ran 9 times, and thrown 7 passes, and returned 14 kicks, and produced zero TDs since he left here. Good for him, he's been able to carve out a role for himself in the NFL, but Taylor Heinicke has had more success.
We'll revisit that comment in a few years, when Heinicke is retired and Webb is still employed.
