Well I look at it this way. The NFL and AFL were still separate leagues back in 1969, and each had their league champion. The 2 leagues just happened to start this annual thing of having their champions play each other for bragging right back then xD. Imagine if the Lions won the Super Bowl this year, but the NFL had agreed to play the CFL champion after the Super Bowl for bragging rights. If the Lions lost, would they still get credit for an NFL championship? Would they still have a ticker tape parade and visit the White House?

The Packers won 3 NFL championships from 1960 to 1965 so why are they considered anymore important just because the NFL/AFL hadn't agreed to play their annual post championship exhibition until 1966?

If the Lions won a SB, and then lost to the CFL Champion, I think that would pretty much completely wipe any satisfaction from the SB off of their faces, or at least, it should. The CFL, unlike the the competing AFL back in the day, is a completely inferior league in every single way.

Put the 0-16 Lions against the greatest CFL team to ever hit the field, and the 0-16 Lions would completely obliterate that crappy Canadian team and it wouldn't even be close. (If Warren Moon was on that team he might make it close but still probably not.)

Plans call for 9th Avenue South between 6th Street and 7th Street to be named “Bud Grant Way” during a dedication ceremony open to the public at 12:15 p.m. on December 1, 2014. The name will replace the commemorative name “Carew Drive,” which has since moved near Target Field. On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings held an outdoor ceremony in single-digit temperatures to celebrate a Minneapolis street being named after Bud Grant, their Hall of Fame coach who built a significant part of his legend on an imperviousness to cold while roaming the Met Stadium sidelines from 1967 to 1981.

The ceremony came a day after the Vikings played their coldest home game in 38 years, with 12-degree temperatures at TCF Bank Stadium on Sunday afternoon. It's probably safe to say, though, that the man the Vikings honored on Monday wouldn't have commemorated Sunday's cold temperatures the same way the Vikings did on Tuesday.

The Vikings sent a certificate of participation to the fans who attended Sunday's game, thanking them for braving the cold temperatures (several of you were kind enough to share copies of your certificate on Twitter). It was a clever piece of marketing for a team that has two home games left this month; we heard from some of you who planned to frame the certificate, and others who thought it was silly. We're going to assume Grant never sent a similar memento to the legions of fans who sat outdoors to watch his teams at Met Stadium.

I know I know. lol I'll have my bachelors and be on my own by the time the new stadium is finish. I can only imagine if I went to that Cleveland game last year, I would have been pissed. Seeing how we lost to the Browns and their then 3rd string QB, now starting QB Brian Hoyer. That was embarrassing and would have been a long trip back to Alabama. But at the same time it would've been great to have that first NFL game experience. Unfortunately my first NFL game will be Steelers vs Falcons game next week. My father is a Steelers fan and wanted me to go to Atlanta with him because he didn't want to attend by himself. lol
