I bought the hype big time and thought the floor for the team was ten wins. Whoops. All the long term Minnesota problems are here. p**** boy coaching, poor clock and timeout decisions, bad red flags/challenges and non-challenges from Zimmer. atrocious field goal kicking, bottom feeder run offense, inability to pressure QBs when it matters, choking in prime time and bringing in a prime time choker QB. No OC continuity again and going from Schurmur to De Filipo was a huge downgrade. This team has taken two O lineman in the first round in more than twenty years and damn if it doesn't show. Sheldon Richardson was a flop. Eight million dollars guaranteed for four sacks. The mental health meltdown and Buffalo game is as embarrassing as anything to happen in a regular season game.
The injury has wrecked Cook, he won't be anything special. Mike Zimmer saying we need to run the ball more when we blow goat-balls at it sounds like somebody explaining to me that "true communism hasn't been tried yet." Compton and Remmers suck.
The upside? Thielen and Diggs are great and despite the rushing attacking falling off the cliff, Minnesota is only down like one point a game on offense. The D was still damn good in many categories and bailed a struggling offense out. Also, next year, after belly-flopping big time in prime time, guess what? More noon games against easier opponents. I think that's going to get us into the playoffs next year.
