GB Drama: McCarthy vs. Rodgers

And I was just thinking, as I was typing that, "Wow, that doesn't sound like the Packers at all. That's way out of character. The HC, OC, ST, QB coach and at least four players getting the axe? That's pretty radical."

Well, cornered rats bite. They're going to start doing many things, like mass firings and splashy free agency acquisitions. They understand the clock is ticking on Aaron Rodgers and they let the dog get off the chain. Its the Aaron Rodgers Show and they're going to do many, many things in the next three years that are not "Green Bay style." Hopefully they screw it all up and suck for years.

At this point, heresy as it might seem, would GB be better in the long run taking like 5 #1 draft picks for Aaron. Might suck for a while, but with the changing of the game I would rather have my coach in charge and poison players to the clubhouse not around any more. Tough call for GB, but would any very good coach want to go there knowing that Rodgers can undercut the locker room and win.

That would be a f*cking absolutely ridiculously moronic trade.

Rodgers is the best to ever live according to his on field production (Sorry Brady fans but Bradshaw isn't better then Marino) 

I find it odd so many on here thought McCarthy sucked but now seem to be saying he got fired due to Rodgers undercutting him. Ive seen no actually evidence of friction between the two besides b list talking heads speculating as much.

Rodgers is the heart and soul of that franchise. Poison? Er, i don't think so. I think that is some real wishful thinking.

I don't think the fact that Rodgers was changing up to 50% of the plays called by McCarthy is any indication that Rodgers is to blame. McCarthy is still a bad coach as evident by 2013 and 2017 when Rodgers wasn't in there to change the called plays, or even any of the other seasons where Rodgers wasn't leading a mutiny and the Packers still only won 10 games. McCarthy is still a bad coach if his QB is changing the plays that often (he clearly allowed it), and it's also an indication that Rodgers isn't in the same league as a Peyton Manning, because him changing the plays all the time led to some pretty crappy results. If he was so terribly upset with Rodgers, then why not bench his ass and show him who's boss? He's getting fired either way.

The linebackers coach just got cut, and yeah, he's got no room to talk lately about performance and production, but he said all people need to be accountable and held to a high standard, including the second coming of Christ Jesus in cleats, Aaron Rodgers. When a team has more losses on the road than total wins, a big part of that is the QB. Aaron Rodgers is the most important player on his team by leaps and bounds at the most important position in the sport by leaps and bounds. He's been allowed a tremendous amount of free reign, for instance, changing two plays out of three on offense and you know what? His team is 4-7-1 and has lost every road game.

Packers fans love to sh*t on Matthew Stafford as Stat Padford, a guy with big eye popper numbers who doesn't beat good teams and puts it all up in garbage time or because he's allowed to pass fifty times a game. Well, the Packers resume is tying Minnesota, opening day comeback against Chicago, San Francisco, Buffalo and Miami. That's the resume. Everything else was a loss, with the biggest stinker being losing at home to Arizona as a two touchdown favorite. You can't let one guy run the offense and just run all the coaches and coordinators out of town on a rail and expect to get anywhere.

I think Rodgers is falling off and will never win another Super Bowl, and its chiefly his own damn fault, and Green Bay fans can't cop to it because they're on the hook with this guy for another 5 seasons until he's in his 40s. Denial is a river in Wisconsin.
