Okay, it's not a light haul but where are the impactful players? It's a good sign for them especially since they have some aging players and many missed draft picks, especially in the secondary.
I don't dis-count (doublecheck) Rodgers but what else does he (and the team) have? Not much of a running attack. Not much of a defense. Clay is long in the tooth - no real playmakers. No consistent TE help. And he has obvious contempt for his HC who will be gone after this season. It's a boat barely adrift and their record reflects that.
I'm just reporting on what I see and have seen all year long. This is who they are - a team that can barely manage wins from week to week. As for past years? Well, they were better but never with the adequate supporting cast to win Super Bowls IMO. Rodgers, despite all his greatness has been to 1 SB in 11 seasons as a starter. That's on their front office IMO.
They really need an infusion of talent and I think a continued aggressive approach in FA is important for them. They should be in win-now mode with Rodgers in his prime. They haven't acted that way for many years now.
Sigh. Dude, please stop inciting me to defend GB, i really don't like to but reality takes precedent, and your claiming alot of things that are verifiably false.
Their two big signings havent done great, but GB had gotten a lot of value from their secondary signings.
Where are the missed secondary draft picks? Alexander and Jackson have both done good, especially the former. King is a solid player as well, Clinton Dix was a good player but they traded him away.
Rodgers has a decent O line and a RB averaging higher ypc then anyone in the league. The D is ranked 12th, the lowest its been ranked all year.
Graham has been more productive then any TE in the division.
They have been in this same boat multiple times. They were desperate in 2010, and in 2013, and in 2016. You keep appealing to their record, and i keep pointing out this isnt uncharted territory to them.
I think we can win. But thats the thing, we NEED to win. If we lose, they will ride that cupcake schedule right to a div title.
As for your picks in the secondary, in 2017, your 1st and 2nd round picks were so good that they repeated the same pattern of using their first two picks in 2018 for the secondary. Combine this with consecutive 1st round picks Clinton-Dix and Damarious Randall, neither of whom are playing for the team and you have exactly what I'm talking about. That seems like a lot of top picks devoted to the secondary whereby the rest of the team is not being addressed. Moreover, they felt compelled to sign two more free agents to the secondary - Breeland and House. Those are a ton of resources devoted to the secondary. Are you sure those guys in 2017 are that good? These myriad of additions makes me wonder.
