Are the Vikings really that bad in Primetime?
Absolutely:
Will big prime-time schedule bring big problems for Vikings? (article dated April 18, 2018)
Highlights:
"Over the last three years, there has been a direct relation to the NFL not promoting the Vikings as a faceplate franchise in prime time/stand-alone games and Zimmer’s Vikings enjoying a lot of success."
"(in 2015) Twelve of their 16 games were scheduled for noon Central starts and the only late Sunday afternoon games were at Denver and Oakland. . .The Vikings went 11-5 and won the NFC North."
"With the success they enjoyed in 2015, combined with moving into a football palace, the NFL took notice in 2016. The Vikings were scheduled for five stand-alone games – a Sunday night game against Green Bay, Monday night games at Chicago and vs. the New York Giants, a Thursday night game against Dallas and a Thanksgiving Day game at Detroit. . . They finished 8-8."
"Once again, the Vikings were coming off a down year, losing eight of their last 11 games, and the NFL schedule makers weren’t anxious to showcase the purple and gold. Minnesota was assigned just three prime-time games. . .Once again, the Vikings found success with a schedule that didn’t require the hot lighting of night games – going on to finish 13-3, winning the NFC North title and advancing to the NFC Championship Game."
"given the success the Vikings had in 2017, it won’t be surprising to see Minnesota in four or even five prime-time or stand-alone games this season. The roller coaster is taking another turn." (emphasis mine)

"From 2009 to the present day, the Vikings have been all over the map when it comes to performance and record. . .Through it all, though, there has been a troubling constant: the Vikings have been awful in the past seven seasons in primetime games.
How bad has it been? Shockingly bad, as I found out when I went back through the history. From 2009 until now, the Vikings are 3-18 in night games, including the playoffs"
