We knew what we were signing up for with Cousins. He's still better than any QB we've had since the magical old gunslinger in 2009. I suppose they could have went the cheaper route with Keenum and struggle to get to .500. Teddy looks adorable holding a clipboard... And Bradford looks GREAT sitting on his couch.
Maybe you have not noticed, but the Vikings are struggling to stay above .500 with Cousins, so were the Redskins - who have done arguably better with Alex Smith. I don't recall the Vikings struggling to get to .500 with Keenum last season. The Broncos are, but that is an entirely different team.
That is not to say that Keenum is a franchise quarterback, but it does cast doubts on Cousins' ability to be one.

Fans/Analysts over/under rate players. His qb contract was right in line w/every other qb contract going on right now, that is the gonig rate in the NFL for a franchise qb. If you want, I guess the entire NFL over rates every qb b/c they are all overpaid(unless they are rookies or qb's so late in their careers they are taking paycuts, see Brady)

That assumes Cousins is a franchise quarterback. He isn't a scrub, but he got $84 million 100% guaranteed for three years. The Vikings are paying for Walleye; I hope they are not being served Zander on their plate.
On a side note, Brady has always taken less. He didn't try to leverage the Jets to get extra money that could have been used to support another position.
