Also have to wonder if the teams that were potentially interested in Watson (ie, Miami) could also be interested in Stafford.

From a salary cap-only perspective, Watson is more "friendly" in 2021, but Stafford could be "friendly" long-term since his current deal expires after 2022, so for teams currently in "win-now" mode, they can get out after 2 years. Stafford does have a $10m roster bonus' due on 3/17 for the next 2 seasons, too...

Schefter reporting that the Lions are "expected" to get a 1st Rd pick (I'm assuming it's 2021) in a trade involving Stafford (link)...so teams w/ multiple 1st Rd picks in 2021 could have a shot, and those teams are: Jax, NYJ & Miami....could the 'Phins sent Tua and a 1st rounder to Detroit for Stafford?

From Schefter's article (linked above):

With new general manager Brad Holmes and new head coach Dan Campbell now in place, the Lions will soon begin trade discussions that most likely will result in a new quarterback for the team -- largely influenced by what and whom Detroit will get in exchange for Stafford, sources told ESPN. The Lions are expected to receive at least a first-round pick, league sources said.

Another thing to consider...could Trevor Lawrence be playing in the NFC North in 2021?

If Miami is the team that trades for Stafford by sending Tua and their 3rd overall pick in the 2021 Draft to Detroit for Stafford, the Lions could possibly have enough ammo to trade up to #1 w/ Jax. Urban Meyer would then take Justin Fields 3rd overall, assuming NYJ go Sewell or Zach Wilson, and bring a former Ohio St QB to Jax to groom, along with 2 other 1st Rd draft picks in 2021 to build around Fields. Detroit then takes Lawrence...

Potentially far-fetched, but depending on what 1st Rd pick Detroit gets in return for Stafford, it's possible Jax and Urban Meyer are tempted enough to trade out...

That's pretty far-fetched. I doubt the Jags move down, and just hope that NYJ doesn't go Fields. They leave themselves completely open to missing out on both Lawrence and Fields.

Foles is under contract and Trubisky isn't. From what I've heard, they're likely going to let Mitch walk and keep Foles as a backup and search for a new starter.

But I was told that the Packers were smart for taking Love and finding their QB of the future even with Rodgers on the team!

Turns out, when you have a Super Bowl caliber team with an MVP at QB, it might be a good idea to draft players who can contribute now and push your team over the edge instead of long-term projects. There were plenty of talented guys available at that pick where Love went, perhaps the Packers beat the Bucs if they draft WR Chase Claypool, who's been a great redzone weapon for Pittsburgh.

Much like the Rams finally knew Goff wasn't the QB for them despite a SB appearance the 49ers are in the same boat with Garoppolo. The Rams got Stafford and the 49ers might try for Rodgers, Cousins or Watson.

Rodgers is from the Chico, California. I would think he'd force his way West to San Francisco.
