In a year where offense numbers are exploding across the NFL, the Bears have been held to under 20 points three times in seven games played. There are only five teams in the NFL averaging fewer points per game than the 5-2 Bears and those five teams are a combined 7-26.

Yep, better get it cleaned up, or the wheels are going to fall off as we get into November and December. Our wheels fell off in September, so this isn't a diss, lol, I'm just saying... the offense needs to figure it out and step up!

For all those that put all the O woe's on the qb, well new qb same results. Nagy/Pace ignored the OL b/c Mitch is mobile enough to save them, and then put a statue back there to replace him b/c Nagy is to arrogant to think his playcalling isn't the real issue.

Mitch 1st year under Nagy, played to Mitch's strength looked like a solid starter, but probably not the best of the 3.

Mitch 2nd year, Nagy has him playing the system and style he wants him to play, bust

Mitch 3rd year, Nagy, okay maybe a little bit of you a little bit of me. Mitch benched. Nagy sweet I can all my stuff now. Foles, oh sweet baby jesus, I cannot run this stuff, I don't have time(paraphrasing from an actual quote).

Nagy is a good HC, but his playcalling/scheme are hot garbage.

I think they can still get to 10 wins but not sure it will be enough to make playoffs.

Thought some of the play calling was awful,4th & 1 and you pitch the ball 6 yards backwards to Patterson? And why the heck keep running at Aaron Donald,did Nagy not get the memo that 99 is good?

The Bears have a number of problems on offense, but by far the worst problem is the offensive line. It is not just bad, it's really really bad. We have 5 turnstiles on the OL now. We need a better QB too. But honestly, it doesn't matter who the QB is right now. They are roadkill behind this OL. We can't run either due to pitiful run-blocking. You know, I've been a Bears fan for a long time, and I am amazed by the number of seasons our poor OL play contributed in a big way to failed offense. We tend to have some decent defenses, and I like that. But the offenses have been an embarrassment.

If I were building a championship team I would start with the offensive line. That 1 unit makes the entire offense better. Or worse. It seems like a wise investment. If the most important position on a team is the QB, then why on earth would you not provide the infrastructure that allows him to reach his ceiling potential? If the OL sucks, that lowers the ceiling for RBs, WRs, TEs and of course your QB. It's a death knell for a team. JMO. I get it, that the OL isn't the glamour position on a team. But those "big uglies" will win you a lot of games. Because they provide the foundation for the team to outscore opponents and stack wins. In fact, indirectly, the offense helps the defense when those OL can keep long clock-eating drives going and the D gets some rest between series. Constant 3-and-outs are tough on Ds.

You'd think more teams could figure this out. But the Bears seem clueless.

I feel that. Mostly because we haven't had a good O-line since... 2013 maybe? 2009? We basically make a tradition out of having a bad O-line.

I thought the Bears had a pretty good OL from 2017-18, but then they suddenly fell apart in 2019, and didn't address it much outside of moving a really bad RT to RG (Ifedi). Hopefully Pace, or whatever GM may replace him, makes it a priority.

Turbisky has missed the past couple weeks with a shoulder ailment, but Tyler Bray has been Foles' backup since that. Sloter would have to pass up both Foles and Bray. I'm rooting for him, but I wouldn't expect much.

Michael Rothstein of ESPN reports a group of Michigan legislators has asked Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp to hire Robert Saleh:

A group of Michigan state legislators have sent a letter to Detroit Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp urging her to hire San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh as the team's next head coach.

Saleh, a native of Dearborn, Michigan, grew up in the state, played college football there, and his family has long football ties to Michigan State and the state's football history."We understand the difficulty of these upcoming decisions," the letter reads. "As passionate and loyal Lions fans, we are asking you to hire Robert Saleh as the head coach of our team. He is the best candidate for the job and measures as such across every metric. A head coach like Robert can bring tremendous energy and heart to the franchise and would help us reach peaks that have seemed unobtainable for so long. We have an exceptional opportunity here and we trust you to make the best decision.

"To turn the corner and become a winning franchise, these next hiring decisions are critical. We hope that you will consider Robert Saleh as the head coach, not only for us, but for everyone across the loyal fanbase of our beloved Detroit Lions."The letter, authored by Rep. Abdullah Hammoud and his staff, also thanked Hamp for making the decision to fire general manager Bob Quinn and coach Matt Patricia on Saturday after two-plus seasons, saying those moves were necessary to move forward.

Hamp said Saturday that the team was going to cast a wide net in looking at potential candidates for the head coach and general manager positions, including possibilities at the college and professional levels, putting no barriers on her search.

"We're going to be looking at everything," Hamp said.
