Week 2 - Vikings vs. Aaron Rodgers Revenge Tour Discussion

Hot, sweaty, and miserable? I shared this elsewhere, but we all got a sunburn on Sunday. It was ridiculous. We're actually peeling now... Gross. Is it September or nah?!?

As far as the overall experience, it went better than I thought it would. I have no idea how many thousands of Viking fans there were, but there were a lot sprinkled throughout. Some small sections had more purple than green, I think. As I said, I'm not quite as annoyed with all the GB fans who show up in our house anymore, because I think we may have them beat... 

Overall, I think everyone was being pretty civil. When we were walking around Lambeau and taking it all in, I heard a guy say something like, "A lot of Vikings fans here today. I hate playing against these guys. I hate coming to these games. I hope they go home pissed." I laughed, because that's EXACTLY how we feel about them. 

The whole experience was pretty cool. I hate the Packers, but I must admit ... it was pretty neat. Lambeau, the surrounding buildings, all the tailgating parking lots, all of the houses nearby all done up in Packers, etc. It was more than Lambeau; that's a whole Packers village over there ... and everyone gets into it on game day. It was cool to see. 

As far as the game itself, the biggest idiot around us was actually a Vikings fan. He was drunk AF before the game even started. Let's just say, by the end of it, his GF was telling him she's done with him, done wasting her life with him, they're over, etc. ...it was interesting. But yeah, he was drunk off his a$$ and was incredibly annoying because he was ... dangerous. That's the best way I could describe him. Just a fool, unpredictable, obnoxious, etc. Dumb!

There were a few obnoxious Packers fans too, though. They weren't drunk, though. They were just dumb. LOL. We cheer loudly. That's what we do. We have season tickets at US Bank, so we're loud cheerers and we get into the game. (Duh!) Well, some Packers fans around us weren't too fond of that, I guess. I guess we were supposed to pay $400 a ticket and not say a word? Not sure. But one lady turned around and stuck her tongue out and literally did THIS:    after they scored. Like, WTF?! LOL. I didn't see it, but my friend just told me about it. Then there was this prick in front of us, who, again, thought we should be quiet. When the Packers scored, he turned around and got in our faces about it. "Hey ladies! Look at the replay! Oh look!" Just stuff like that. Later on he actually patted us on the head and was being cocky about something. My friend basically said, "Don't f*cking touch me!" Again, I didn't catch all that either ... because I was too busy being annoyed about what just happened. LOL. Not really sure what happened there. I just remember him touching us condescendingly, and ... I don't know. Was just weird. Then a bit later, he turns around to argue with me about the Tundra Line. REALLY, DUDE?! Anyway, he goes, "I bet you guys don't have anything like that in Minnesota, do ya?" I'm like, "Yeah, actually we do." He goes on, "There ya go! The Tundra Line! Take some of these cool ideas with you back home to Minnesota." I'm like, "Dude, again, we literally already have the exact same thing. We've had it for years. It's called the Skol Line." Then his friend was gesturing for him to shut up. LOL. Later on we realized this friend was actually a Vikings fan, because he began cheering with us. Was just a really weird thing, because this dude talking trash was in his 60s. Like, WTF?! I'm incredibly quiet in person. I just chill and do my own thing. HOWEVER, when it comes to Vikings football, I WILL stand my ground! Freaking crazy old man.

We had a few weird moments, but overall, it was an enjoyable experience. I don't know if/when I'll ever go again, but I'm really glad I went. I just wish it was a little cooler. I'd prefer a winter game over all of that heat and humidity. Gross! Oh, and of course, if we actually got the W, it would have been more enjoyable. But I'm incredibly grateful we didn't lose. The Packers fans were ready to pounce; I could feel it. So instead of hearing the Skol chant or GO PACK GO ... we all left that place pretty much in silence. But, I guess that was better than losing and listening to the alternative, so I'll take it! 

In the end, I would definitely recommend the experience. Super glad we went ... and maybe I'll go again someday. HOWEVER, I'm not made of money, so, we'll see. Next year we already have it planned to go to Dallas and possibly KC, so I better start saving my pennies.

Yeah, that whole thing was weird. He was a Vikings fan; she was a Packers fan. He was stupid drunk ... and she was drinking. It got ugly pretty darn quickly. By the end of it, she was REALLY taking it to him. I'm not sure if she was joking or if she was serious, but because she kept going on and on and on about it ... and degrading him ... I think she was actually pretty serious.

"Hey, why did you two break up?"

"The Packers-Vikings tie game." 

 

“Freaking crazy old man”. I love it, great job Funky. I’ve been in Green Bay and around Lambeau, never in it during my days living in WI. Those cheeseheads do live in another universe.

Anyone else hate it when Rodgers is occasionally likeable?
