Right now? Of course not. I'm not delusional. If Sloter was forced to start and play an entire season like Keenum did last year, he'd fail miserably. I'm not high on Sloter because I think he should be starting right now, he just looks promising to me. It's about perspective.
At this early stage in his career I think he's ahead of his peers, peers that are also at the same stage. Osweiler isn't at the same stage. Lynch isn't either. They're both ahead of him. Given the same experience, do you think Sloter will look just as bad as those 2? I don't think so. It's also possible he could regress and become a total bust. He hasn't had any pressure yet, like having to compete for the starting job, and that's the type of thing that can break someone.
But if you look at him in terms of what he is and what's expected of him right now, a 3rd stringer, he looks like a pretty good 3rd stringer. I mean don't people think he'll improve or something? Do they think they're seeing the final product? What's he going to be like after sitting behind Cousins for 3 years? That's what I want to find out, but Vikings fans be like, "if isn't as good as Aaron Rodgers yet then he isn't worth our time".
Our front office stole him from Denver and went to great lengths to keep him last year, so they must see something too. Although this is the same front office that drafted Ponder and Teddy and kept them for far too long, so I take it with a grain of salt xD.
? No? Maybe practice? So what metric would GM Boss use to determine which QB is worthy of being on his roster? Sounds to me like you're saying it's just a guess. Throw whatever at the wall and see what sticks. I mean why even have practice or preseason? Just pick some random guys and see how it works out.
