Yeah, I have been there...more recently than I care to admit. Still, vomiting in public and being a passenger of a drunk driver-while unwise (and gross) is not illegal.
Actually public intox is illegal, so Hughes is lucky...
But, let's be real here. You don't get to be a million dollar prof athlete and NOT give up your rights of anonymity, and you also do NOT get to just go out and have drunken party fun. They have behavior clauses in their contracts - they knew that. And by the way, ANY person making that kind of salary in any industry would likewise face punishment from their company. So to align any of this with "normal drunk fun" is a bit trite. They both knew there was a loaded gun in the car, and Hughes could have been charged with public intox. Frankly, if Kearse was any kind of real teammate, he would have told Hughes he did not have a permit. Hughes may have already known this.
Bottom line, they are both idiots, and I would be shocked if the Vikes did not move on from one or either, as well as Hill (who is TBD if he has changed his ways...)... No way they build a long term backfield based on these 3 yahoos...
