I tried to reply to this yesterday, but decided to go against it... but your post is kind of gnawing at me a bit Melanie. I guess the question I'd ask is how do you "make it stop" without destroying the rights of the accused? This is a difficult area, and there really isn't a good answer as far as I can tell, but the only solutions that come to mind aren't ones that are very palatable for the innocent who will be falsely accused in that scenario.
Do you think he's innocent?
I get that people will do and say whatever to avoid prison, but to accuse these women of wanting it? That's disgusting. Did those other little old ladies ask for it when he exposed himself randomly, too? The whole thing is disgusting. What grown women have blood in their underwear from consensual sex? Something isn't right here. Isn't the defense claiming that these women knew who he was? And are after money? LOL. Ain't nobody know who Kellen Winslow is, let alone random homeless women. Come on... But I'm all about integrity. If you screw up; own it and give the victims some kind of closure - not much of the nonsense that we see today of blaming the victim. But yes, I guess I'm the foolish one to expect integrity from a rapist in the first place, so never mind...
As far as "destroying the rights of the accused" ... when it comes to rape, I've expressed my opinions about this in Off Topic quite a bit. As a whole, the system is rigged in favor of the accused, so, ... I'm not losing sleep at night over the few who might be falsely accused. If such a high % of actual rapists get off, I'm sure the innocent guys will, too. Trust the system, right?
