People don't want to put their names on this or what? I would consider it, but the season will be over by the time you get your 1000 signatures, James.

Besides, reinstating him does nothing. Right? It won't get him on the field.

I would have more signatures if more people would spread the word. I can't do this by myself. And I don't be on social media as much but perhaps I should try. I don't even think many of my Twitter/Instagram followers care about the issue because I may be the only Vikings fan amongst my peers in my area. Technically I have a few more days until the hearing and maybe 5 more days after that. Reinstating does do something, I have confidence that the Vikings will let him on the field. It's just the fact that they can't get him off the exempt list and probably at this point just want to focus on what they can do and just wait and continue on play football.

But those of us outside of the team can atleast let our voices be heard. Let the NFL know that there are those of us out there who still wants to see him play. This is the only petition so far. Obviously I don't have time to spread the word around like I would life because I have school and work. But 19 signatures. That's better than nothing. Yesterday I had none

That would be absolute bullsnot. This is not just about Adrian Peterson. Peterson has already served half a season of suspension. That is two more games than the maximum rule imposed by the Commissioner earlier this season.

There is no way the Vikings, and fans indirectly, should have to pay Peterson game checks for games he did not play and then not have them count against his suspension. The simple and fair answer is six games for a first offense, six games checks, and credit for games served. There should also be a league monitor for the court ordered counseling and public service and specific repercussions for violating the court order.

I am all for Peterson paying his just dues, but if the game checks get pulled, he already has. This is looking more like a witch hunt or PR stunt from Roger Goodell than anything else.

While I agree with you, there are 2 things at play here, 1) this is the Vikings we're talking about, so totally expect this not to go our way at all, and 2) this is the NFL we're talking about here, and they always do what they want regardless of precedent or what's best for anyone else. Goodell is going to do what it takes to make himself look good. The good news for us is, Goodell has a habit of making bad decisions and botching things when he tries to "do the right thing".

It's beginning to feel as though Peterson's case is becoming the fulcrum for issues much larger than whether he will return to the field for Minnesota this season. Nearly two weeks after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault charges in Texas, his status is being determined through a disciplinary process no one seems to trust right now. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has already said it will change, but the NFL Players Association wants to make sure it is included in the process.

The NFLPA believes Peterson should have been reinstated after his plea bargain and cited a signed letter that said the running back would remain on the commissioner's exempt list until his legal matter was resolved. The NFLPA contends the NFL has reneged on that agreement, and Peterson's camp was reportedly concerned about the nature of the meeting and the role outside experts would have in it.

The union doesn't trust the NFL's disciplinary process and is trying to effect change by refusing to go along with the current set of rules.

"The League office seems more focused on creating an arbitrary disciplinary process for Adrian instead of honoring a signed agreement to remove him from the Commissioner's list," NFLPA spokesperson George Atallah said Saturday in an email to ESPN. "They are simply making stuff up as they go along."

We'll hear the news tomorrow. Peterson suspended 6 games without pay. Coincidentally when there are 6 games remaining. That'll sweep him under the rug for the remainder of the season for the league. Unless we make the playoffs. Then I totally hope we make the playoffs, just to see Goodell have to deal with this one more time lol.
