I'd rather be able to watch the game...win or lose. Really folks, think this through. If he sucks we lose to the cheddarheads. We don't want that.
Even if Ponder does well, and he occasionally fools ya that way, what's going to happen as a result? They might consider keeping that worthless bag of chump around and maybe he even becomes our long-term #2, with even more opportunities for him to suck down the road. We don't want that. We want Ponder at 3 or lower, where he doesn't play except in National Emergencies.
No, No one want to lose, but that's not a forgone conclusion. I doubt that the Vikings are going to keep him around (unless he takes a salary cut to be a backup - and I don't think that's likely), but even if they do, he's OK in that role IMHO.
On a similar vein, I have a question. Let's pretend the Vikings hold Teddy out for tonight (as a "precaution") and sometime during the game the brain trust decides they have a shot, but only if Teddy finishes. Is teddy "activated" for the game so they could use him if need be, or do they have another player they are wanting on the active roster for tonight? Maybe that might be an outcome too? (They start Ponder, but if he starts 'stinking it up' they bring in Teddy? )
What they do may tell us a little more about the actual condition of Bridgewater's ankle.
