This will be interesting. If he looks the part of a starter, I could see a QB desperate team paying him a lot if they need a FA QB. Winston has a lot of personal baggage and Tanahil/Bortels would be the next best names out there.
I don't dispute that may be the case, after all Rob Johnson parleyed one start in 1997 into 4 years of being/not being "The Guy" in Buffalo.
But what does looking the part mean? Does it mean 18-27 for 200 yards and a TD? Does it mean being Teddy Bridgewater in 2015, or being better? Teddy Bridgewater in 2015 would be starting for some teams in the NFL today, but I don't think any of them would be particularly thrilled with that.
I'm glad it's a noon start, I will be interested to see how he performs. And how much will Thomas play? Or Ingram and Kamara? I don't know how much throwing to New Orleans 3-6 WRs is going to show about Teddy Bridgewater, but it's what he has and this is a game against real NFL competition, Carolina may only being playing for pride, but they have some talent on the defensive side of the field. No more idle talk about the preseason performance that meant less than nothing.
On the off chance he throws a TD though, that would make his career total 29-which is how many Kirk Cousins has thrown this season.
Matt Flynn also made $15 million after his week 17 6 TD performance in 2011 and every team regretted signing or trading for him.
Unfortunately for some teams out there the QB market is awful in free agency and the draft. So someone is going to have to take a chance on him.
