5-0 Vikings at 0-5 Falcons
Howard ran this one in for a 21 yard TD, but the refs called RT Franklin for holding. Instead, I settled for a FG. The Falcons were able to hold Howard to a long of 12 yards today, which is impressive for how poor they've played thus far.
Fresh off the injury report, WR Dorial Green-Beckham (nicknamed DGB) catches a 9 yard pass and gets out of bounds with the first down in tow. This was his only catch of the game, with Diggs soaking up more targets.
Brandon Saine vultured a TD away from Howard, much to the chargrin of many fictional fantasy football players.
Mike Wallace makes a simple catch on a deep hook route, but then the DB misses the tackle and Wallace cashes in with a TD. It's been a while, but Wallace finally had a bigger game than Diggs did.
Rookie CB Witherspoon makes a great play on the ball, breaking up the pass. He's been rotating in very lightly, but so far, he's exceeding my expectations. If he keeps playing like this, he's got a bright future ahead of him.
CB Jonathan Banks drops a free interception. All defensive players in Madden do this constantly.
I didn't take any more screenshots, as nothing all that impressive happened in this one. Meanwhile, my Eagles team has been having far more entertaining and close games, while the Vikings are just stomping over everybody right now. I wish we didn't have to wait until Week 16 to see these two teams face off, but the schedule is what it is.

Game Summary
We moved the ball a little more sluggishly on offense. It didn't help that my O-line got called for 3 holds in the 1st quarter alone. Meanwhile on defense, the Falcons went after my LBs in coverage, which makes them the first opponent to focus on that. Atlanta did have a few long drives, but they were unable to convert FGs to TDs.
I did attempt switching playbooks to start the 3rd QB, as I put Pat White in at QB and ran a college playbook with QB sweeps. It didn't work, netting 1 first down in 2 drives, and two punts. Thankfully, the defense shut down everything in the second half.
It's worth noting that this was the first regular season game where I didn't score over 28 points... heck, my previous low was 38! You'd think we would have scored more against a 0-6 team, but Atlanta's defense wasn't horrible.
Atlanta has a pretty bankrupt roster, including an anicent Lawrence Maroney playing FB in the year 2020. A couple of former Vikings include QB Marcus Smith and WR Eric Decker. Believe it or not, I spent a 1st round pick in the year 2008 on Smith to be my QB of the future, but for whatever reason, I didn't like how he played 'cause I went ahead and drafted Trey Smith in the 2009 draft. Since then, you could call these two Smiths rivals, but Trey has won every single game against Marcus, no matter which team Marcus was starting for. Meanwhile, Eric Decker was a 3rd round selection who developed into a quality #2 WR. I let him leave in free agency and he's now Atlanta's top receiver... which is nice for him, but this team might win 3 games this year if they're lucky.
Eagles Update
The Eagles have played 2 games since the Vikings' bye. They faced off against the 5-0 Ravens and crushed them 31-6. The Ravens offense was totally shut down by the Eagles stout defense, and while the Eagles offense had trouble moving the ball on the ground, a now healthy Matt Ryan was able to throw 3 TDs. TE Jimmy Graham had an 100 yard game, to boot.
The Eagles second game was rather close, but the score didn't show it. They faced the 4-2 Seahawks and won 41-19. However, the Seahawks had the ball down 27-19 with 3 minutes to go, and played a close game. The Eagles had troubles passing and running the ball, allowing for the Seahawks to get close, but I somehow broke 2 very long rushing TDs when I was simply trying to run out the clock...
