The Twins have started the season 17-9, which is the second best record in baseball behind the Ray (19-9). They've benefitted from some wise offseason additions to the offense in DH Nelson Cruz (hitting over .300 with 5 HRs), 1B C.J. Cron (hitting .244 with 5 HRs with very good fielding), and Jonathan Schoop being a much better 2B than Dozier was in 2018. The young core is finally contributing too, with Max Kepler, Byron Buxton, Jorge Polanco, and Mitch Garver having great seasons at the plate. Eddie Rosario is still a stud (leads the AL with 11 HRs) and the primary utility guy, Willians Astudillo aka La Tortuga, hits .327 and never strikes out.
The pitching is decent, and I think it's the only thing holding the Twins back from being a serious contender. But the offense has the potential to be a top 5 unit and at least make a run at the playoffs with the division being as awful as it currently is.
So, at the moment, I'd say the Twins' chances are looking pretty good. That's a lot than you could say about the Wolves or the Wild.
