Yeah there's something to be said about not having a salary cap or revenue sharing. It creates a league of haves and have nots. I take zero enjoyment of seeing who has the most wins while spending the least amount of money. That's all sports though... People love to play GM and think of the most efficient winning team. I love baseball... Used to wake up every morning and read box scores/leaderboards as a kid. Baseball has taken stats to another level with their analytics and that's been fun too.
I wish football had more advanced metrics to follow, except BS ones created by ESPN like QBR... Football is a good 20 years behind baseball on that.
One reason why I like the NFL so much is because of the equality. If you play well, no matter your market, you will get covered and you will have the $$$ to money just like any other team in the league. There are no such things as "cheap" owners in the NFL, but in baseball, the owners are restrained by how much money the team actually makes. If the Twins don't pull in much money, they just can't go out and spend more. There shouldn't be a caste system in a major league sports franchise, but here we are.
Baseball is just a naturally stat-driven sport, and football isn't as much. I don't think there's quite as much data in football to be gained from examining every tiny detail...
